Everton. I hate you. Again.

Watching the game today brought back all the boring negative tactics we played under FAT SAM last season. No passion no fighting spirit just boring negative football.

Now that's not true is it?
Tactics were nothing like Sam. Digne playing as basically a winger?
Nothing negative about the way we played, just Martinez era defending with a high line that didn't work today.

Today was proper Everton but when I think longer term, it eases the pain.

Pickford
Coleman Mina Zouma Digna
Walcott Gana Gomes Bernard
Sigurdsson
Richarlison
I think Silva will be playing something like this when the treatment room empties.

That team would've crushed West Ham today and will give most of the so called "top teams" a game.

We are a massive club, with a rich and illustrious history. We had more league titles, than both Arsenal and Man United, back in 1987.Then we fell asleep.Lost all sense of ambition, and only won 1 trophy in years, and that was 23 years ago now.The last 30 years have been an insult in many ways.Hopefully this sleeping giant will, reawaken sooner rather than later.

I've no issue with the overall performance. It's the individual mistakes that hurt. Digne was rubbish. Stupid mistake by the best GK in the league. Just a bit unlucky today. Overall there's a lot of be positive about. People are panicking stupidly.

Better players lads. Nothing against the lads in our squad, they are better than me.

The only way we will ever win anything ever again is by getting better players.

So get used to mid table, that’s about where our players are in reality.

Also: There's really nothing to be enthusiastic about with Silva, sorry to say. Sadly we have to see every manager as a potential liability or a type that "drags us down", something that has to be navigated around rather than count on them to make us better. We've not had a magic manager type effect since Moyes left, and he should've left too.

What we need is our strikers to do things that strikers do. And then we need this ramshackle group of foreign exchange students to actually get together and do football things and make it look like they know them.

Thing about Everton is that we're proper crap when we first decide to be crap. And it hurts.

I've just reached saturation point with the club to the stage that for the first time in my life I'm not only contemplating not renewing my season ticket next year but seeing lots of things to be positive about not doing so. I really don't like being this negative about going the game and the club in general but it just feels like a chore these days and has done for years. I'd sooner somebody else got to go who doesn't have the idealism ground out of them yet like I do. It makes me really sad that I've reached this stage. I don't "hate" the club or anything silly like that, I wish I did because maybe then us being so bad wouldn't hurt so much......:(
Before the all seater stadiums - pay at the turnstyle - the crowds voted with their feet ...........

Reality is, the team is in transition, a new manager, injuries & suspension preventing first choice eleven.....there will be more results like this. Lets not go overboard. There is a lot of good things going on at the Club but ultimately its the results on the pitch that are the most important thing that defines success. We vacated midfield exposing an inexperienced back four, made individual mistakes and didn't take our many chances. We need to improve no doubt about that, but rather than simply hate them and kneejerk because we lost, Id rather give the management team time until we see the new players playing in their preferred positions.

I’m considering giving up, don’t think there’s a chance for us to be competitive ever again.

And realistic view is that we’re slowly heading for relegation. Pathetic board, constantly making poor personal decisions and squad full of pathetic players who’re not arsed. Recipe for a disaster. We could easily become Villa soon.
With a bit of QPR mixed in..

That's absolute worst case scenario though and doesn't bare thinking about.

I can get over losing, it's the predictable rubbish that infuriates me, i.e. West Ham have no points and Yarmelenko has been poor, Everton to the rescue. How are we so predictable? No other team has that sort of luck

It's not luck, it's mentality. A loser mentality that has been cultivated for years now.

We get the worst because we fear the worst. In many instances we are beaten before we even step onto the pitch.

Silva will hopefully fix that.

It's a funny game. Beat Arsenal away next week with a Ricky brace and it's 'Silvas broke the spell, ak47 to an Uzi fight' -etc.
