Theyre fitting in Patterson now on the right of midfield ahead of Tavernier.

We seem to have missed a trick last summer. Hopefully we can land him in tandem with Mykolenko.

….Patterson looks a real prospect but he’s another who probably does his best work joining in play in the top third. I doubt that suits Benitez.

Maybe interesting i am reading a book about the agent of Ronald Koeman. In the period Koeman was the manager his agent was also a special advisor to Moshiri and Kenwright on all transfers. Similar is probably happening now: Benitez tells who he wants and Moshiri and Bill have someone dealing with negotiations
Kia Joorabchian

I’ve heard that Mykolenko is better going forward? Not sure how true that is. But I wonder If Rafael is thinking of playing a back 5? Would probably suit the CB, and would help Branthwaite, ease his way into the team, even though we probably will need a new top class one as well. Who’s good technically

Wouldn’t surprise, complete our journey to mirror his Newcastle side ?

Its all here...
The takeaway seems to be that there's enough interest in Digne to render his price a function of what clubs can afford to pay, and not our bargaining weakness. It's not how I'd prefer to go about it, as it's very Benitez, but I suspect that if it yields results the complaining will die down quickly.

In other words, provided Mykolenko can step in, this isn't a bad pawn sacrifice from the perspective of improving the squad and potentially holding on to DCL.

He signed Glen Johnson etc

Perhaps at 20 years old he thinks he can mould him? He was also the only RB we offered money for in the summer apparently -- if the rumours are true then the others were rejected by Benitez so...?

On the surface he seems like a good deal if we can get him AND id also sign Calvin Ramsay as well...then we actually have a starter plus a player as competition in a years time.

The little money we have... buying two fullbacks and Sean Longstaff isn't going to keep hold of Dom
