Everton January 2022 Transfer Thread

I’d entirely forgotten the current manager had such an extensive past association with that Barca reject.
Now I’m worried there may be something in the rumours.
Hope the player keeps his wage demands prohibitively high.
There is no doubt that Coutinho will be on massive wages, I dont think he is a really poor player but he is inconsistent and I think that comes from not playing a lot of games. I think the general consensus is let the manager get the players he wants, if RB wants him and gets him on loan with us covering c£100k per week that could be offset in the majority by Digne going or in entirity by he who cant be named.

I dont believe we are in for him and it is click bait BTW

I think he is a player who is long past his best and who now seems quite injury prone.
Also think he was slightly overrated across the park but that’s just me.
Don’t want to see him here at any rate.

He’d be a poor man’s James, on even more money than James was. It would make a mockery of the theory that James had to be sold because of his high wages.

Need to be after the next Coutinho, not the current one. No more big wage players for big money, it's what got us into this mess. I don't think we'll be after him anyway, Benitez/Moshiri will know how close to the line we are with FFP and it doesn't make sense to continue with that policy. That Kulusevski is more my cup of tea it's a loan/view to buy with reasonable wages.

Coutinho would be a dreadful, dreadful buy or loan

we need a midfielder and a right back
well we need more creativity up top as well, either out wide or as a no 10
but wages / loan fee / not the right type of player / his injury record is why we shouldnt touch him.
i still file these link under lazy journalism and/or an agent drumming up interest.
