Everton January 2022 Transfer Thread

But that's the whole point of the article, you can. And the case study that is 90% of the article is a guy who was sacked from Nuttals when he was charged, even though he pleaded innocent.

You just have to investigate, not act rashly and show that suspension without pay/sacking is the only way to avoid reputational damage to the company.
Has he been dismissed then? This thread within a thread came about as it was suggested he was suspended but the club wouldn’t be paying his wages.
Nothing in that article really applies to this situation other than recommending paid suspension pending investigation / conviction.

I know that employment law puts far lower levels of reasonable expectations on an employer than criminal law on the courts.
Has he been dismissed? Your hanging your hat on an example of a health work being dismissed. How does that even apply in this case?
Besides that, I set out that in my opinion he’s suspended and getting the vast majority of his contract paid (if not all of it) you’ve said I don’t know I’m talking about, so what’s your opinion and why?

You didn’t state your opinion you stated a whole load of baloney presented as facts eg :

I really don’t think any agent worth his salt would present a client with a contract that could so easily result in hundreds of thousands of pounds being withheld from them.

No agent could prevent his client from being sacked due to being the subject of a serious criminal investigation.

Obviously there’s more nonsense in what you wrote but I can’t be bothered to go through it all.

What’s your opinion on the point at hand, is he suspended and is the club paying him?
Your also still on about him being sacked, prove it.
Stop trying to pick holes in my opinion and give your own, your worse than my Mrs.

And your worse than mine - always wants the last word!

Very much doubt he’s not getting anything paid to him. Not been found guilty of anything and being arrested isn’t sufficient cause to withhold his reputed £120k / week.
If it’s made up of appearance money etc no doubt parts can be withheld, but I’d be very surprised if he’s not getting most of it.
There’s my opinion.

it is also likely that there are clauses in a player’s contract which allow non-payment of salary in circumstances where the player is unable to play

If they put moral turpitude clauses in a footballers contract then 3/4 of the players out there wouldn't be on the pitch

We need some decent characters with a winning mentality

I think you are talking about the burden of proof.

In criminal cases it is for the prosecution to prove guilt beyond all reasonable doubt.

In civil cases the claimant has to prove his case on the balance of probabilities .

He had a bad history with James... But has already signed Coutinho twice, brought him to Europe and Coutinho said that Benitez was the most important manager he has ever had...
I’d entirely forgotten the current manager had such an extensive past association with that Barca reject.
Now I’m worried there may be something in the rumours.
Hope the player keeps his wage demands prohibitively high.
