At previous workplaces I know of people who have been sacked after having been arrested and charged.

A lot depends on the nature of the allegations.

Child sex allegations for example would be looked on very dimly.

Anybody can be sacked. Depends on whether the employer is willing to fac3ca tribunal. Which also depends whether the employee feels they will win an unfair dismissal claim and how willing they are to pursue it.

Could cost an awful lot of money if you lose.

Nobody has been dismissed.

But the case lays out clearly, where a criminal investigation is being undertaken, an employer has the right to suspend, and does not have to pay the full amount, or indeed any wages.

If a club wanted to not pay an employee their salary, due to a criminal investigation then they are within their rights to do so. They are the facts. But as you say, it doesn't automatically mean they have to adopt them.

Benitez so publically freezing out Digne has almost certainly put a dent in his transfer value

Clubs will know that he isn't wanted, so why should they pay extra

It's not easy but you have to try to be shrewd and scout properly too often we have gone for the obvious on wages that are too high, or haven't considered how the player will fit into our system.

In fairness Newcastle were a good unit tonight, worked hard, if they play to that standard against us, we will need lady luck on our side.

We need luck to beat anyone right now our results all hang on individual moments it seems to me. Our "system" such as it is, doesn't work.

Good he isn't good enough, way too inconsistent a player, also he went off injured yet again! If we want that sort of player I can think of a few cheaper, younger options in the championship who would just be better tbh.
