Think Maupay would be a great signing - pace, can fill a few positions and can slot. Best days ahead of him. Can't see it happening though.

People took the piss in August when I said this.

He's kicked on again this season.

0.57 goals per 90 minutes.

7 league goals in 15.

Level with Ronaldo, Raheem Sterling and Sadio Mane. Not bad at all factoring in Brighton too.

He's a bit of an irritant. Same type of reason I really wanted Mitrović when he was in the Championship in 2019 and again when he was struggling last season - combative players with their best years to come/resale value.

I think he's an OK player but Brighton would rinse us for a huge amount of money. I'd be worried the amount we would need to spend would be his absolute premium value and there wouldn't be wiggle room to sell him at a profit in the future.

Hes a good player mate reminds me a bit of Super Tim Cahill for nuisance factor.

Lad can finish and can do it on limited chances.

He would be a good signing.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Moyes pick him up.

Agree. I always thought he could have done for us a similar role to what Jota has done for them lot.

A lot of the comment back then though was he was terrible, Brighton's biggest problem in that he'd waste chances etc etc.

Anyway, he's 25. This summer window he'll have one year left on his deal - can't see Brighton allowing him to go into a final year of his contract. Lessens any 'absolute premium value'.

We'll see on that. The only mention of this so far is "the bobble" - who it's clear to me is regurgitating scottish newspaper tittle tattle.

If the worst came to the worst and he was signed, he's decent going forward and getting crosses in, but utterly 'kin hopeless as a defender. He'd get the back torn out of him in this league, so I can only think he'll be benched for most of the rest of this season and Coleman or Kenny starts while he tries to get to grips with the huge step up in level.
The Athletic says he’s our main target at RB aswell

I’d take Barkley. Our midfield is [Poor language removed] dire and we need someone who can carry the ball and be positive. If it’s a loan there’s not too much risk either with finances.

Fans will forget about his transfer once he bangs in a couple of winners and fronts Henderson in the derby

Absolutely not mate. He's garbage. He's gone backwards since us. Villa fans couldn't wait to see the back of him and Chelsea fans have absolutely no time for him.

Also, loans aren't free. Aston Villa paid £11M to loan Barkley.

Besides being garbage, he's also an absolute rat.

Strangely enough I have a vague recollection of reading a breakdown of our current managers tactical preferences some years ago.
It mentioned , as I seem to recall, that he liked to operate with one primarily defensive FB and one overtly attacking FB.
That was in more accomplished teams than this Everton one.
