Everton January 2022 Transfer Thread

£4mil rising to £8mil would have been a great deal...i wonder what the fee would be without clauses if its going up to £14mil.

Still think we should get Ramsay as well.

How do you work that out???

Just because Benitez chooses players doesnt mean theyre the best available on a budget.

I think thats the only way a Digne loan works.

Loan with a fee until summer -- the fee opens up FFP for us to sign Mykolenko and Patterson.

Then summer a swap deal with someone.

Idrissu Baba looks like another Gana type. A tackle machine. Not the type id go for.

I think were better off going for someone like Kessie/Kamara who can sit in front of the defence and hold a position while covering the defence...like Mascherano used to do for Benitez but different qualities.

If were going for 2 in midfielders I think they need to do more than just run around and tackle.
Not being funny mate, but stop talking about Kessie like he’s even a slightly possible option. Makes you look delusional, which I’m sure you’re not

Had to delete an attempt to reply without the other aspects mentioned. Not on here that much to know how it all works.

Yeah, it would've been, and it was very, very close to being done. Patterson got covid in the week that it was all being done, the last week of the window. Rangers refused him the right to talk to us via zoom and also disengaged with his agent. I was told they expected another higher monetary transfer bid to come in, which would've negated the need to sell him. It never came.

14m is still a good deal. I guarantee you we make the money back, and some or secure our right back for many years.

Ramsay, I'm still no sure of completely. I'm a slave to the Scottish game, still speak with many still actively involved. He's impressed me and those I've spoken to, but I feel like there is a ceiling there that's not the same with Patterson.

As some may be aware, I have a wee bit of an in at Rangers in respect of their transfer dealings. The Patterson deal has been ratified by the Rangers footballing management team. Player is happy to go. We offered 4m with add ons to 8 in the summer which I said was the case on here before it was reported. The financial aspect is still being ratified but I expect it to happen fairly soon. 14m is what I'm hearing. I'd imagine a lot of which will be add ons. If I hear anymore I'll keep you posted.
£14M for ANY rangers player is a complete luagh...for one who cant even get in their first team is an utter calamity. What's their record for a sale? Way below £14M.

I could only see such a deal happening if Everton had insisted on £4M up front and add-ons based on the club reaching Europe and / or domestic cup finals - neither of which are likely anytime soon.

Agree on Patterson. Ive a friend who is a massive Rangers fan who was praising him in the summer and saying all the right things about him.

He sees him as a 10 year+ top premier league right back.

As for Ramsay, i think hed be cheap as hes playing for Aberdeen. For £5mil its a punt and adds cover. If he does turn out to be decent then of course we make a profit...if not then we'd still be able to sell him for around what we pay

Based on which game you have watched mate? Genuinely interested?
I've seen all his Scotland games and rangers sub appearances this season. I can tell you that he cant defend and will be utterly battered down here.

He's a winger who cant defend. Whoever plays in front of him are going to have to be chasing back all game and CBs getting pulled over to help out.

Are you actually telling me you see a defender in there?

Based upon what? Again. Tell me which game you have watched him that led you to think he'd be benched at Everton and ripped apart. Because I've watched him closely and see nothing of the sort. Indeed I, and those involved in the game in in Scotland have quite the opposite attitude. The same people who thought Tierney, VVD, Mcginn etc would excell.

I'm genuinely interested in your feedback.

below, but not really “way” below.
Then what is it?

If Everton aren't taking the piss over the clauses on add ons for him they've been mugged...mind you, they've been muged by that club before.

If they have any sense they offer what they did in the summer: £5M and tell them to take it or leave it.

I don't believe you mate. Simple as that. Not getting involved in an argument but I think you are chatting complete wham.
