True.Oooooh James Rodriiiiguez
But, that deal did prove too expensive which was in part at least the reason he was moved on.

Just on this one, I think Hibbert is a bit unfairly targeted for what he did going forward. It wasn't his job. I mean, it's impressive he never scored for us once in a competitive match but, defensively, he was a rock. Coleman has been a magnificent servant for the club for over a decade, same with Hibbert. Just completely different players. You compared him to Hibbert, mate.
Hibbert got zero goals and ten assist in his entire Everton premiership career
Coleman got 26 goals and 32 assists
He was exceptional in his pomp, people just chose to forget that for some reason
Neither players or clubs will ever confirm anything like that....it would be unprofessional .Like Digne eh
Did you find the statement of him refusing to play David ?
Still waiting.
I agree with this, it is just the original OP suggesting Hibbert was better, he clearly wasnt the better all round RB, just a good wall for a while. Do you not remember the amount of hate he got for his performances? Some of the worst grief I can recall as an Everton fanJust on this one, I think Hibbert is a bit unfairly targeted for what he did going forward. It wasn't his job. I can’t pretend to understand the detail of the accounts, but the losses have been huge. It’s not just a wages problem, it’s a general affordability issue.I thought the issue was the debt created by weekly salaries and not signing fees?
With ammortorisation (spelling?) we would be able to spend. Losing He who not to be named, Tosun and a few other fringe players our salaries are reduced giving room for new players?
I never hated Hibbert, always thought if he was about 2-3 inches taller he'd be a CB and probably in the England squad. Guy was a rock usually defensively. I do recall people slating him for going forward and I get that part but, personally, I love Hibbert. Great player for us.I agree with this, it is just the original OP suggesting Hibbert was better, he clearly wasnt the better all round RB, just a good wall for a while. I still don't get how Inter can be in for Digne. Aren't they literally broke?
I guess in the same way that Barca have somehow found £55m to pay for Torres, it's big clubs they just do what they want.I still don't get how Inter can be in for Digne. Aren't they literally broke?

If we were to sign Mykolenko and Patterson they certainly would be for the longer term and have resale value.
Signing a mix of players is not a huge problem and Countinho was a very talented player at his best .
Injuries and cost would make this a very risky deal.
A short term loan with an option to extend may be the answer but I would prefer somebody younger and without the baggage.
