Everton January 2022 Transfer Thread

What an utterly absurd take on the current state of affairs.
How so?

We are looking to sell Digne. He's on a big deal and is 28 so I'd say £30-35m should be our starting price for his quality.

However, potential buyers know...

- Benitez doesn't want him, he's made that clear
- Digne and Benitez have had a row
- Digne probably wants out
- Benitez isn't playing Digne and is going to such extremes not to do so; Godfrey LB, Coleman LWB, Godfrey LB when 3-2 down at home with 15 mins to go and having a sub left to use when the tactic is getting balls into the box.

Even the big clubs aren't all flush with money right now, so if they can avoid spending money they will do. Benitez himself referenced the other day 'clubs looking to loan without obligations'.

Basically, how it's been handled has put Everton on the back foot. They have no bargaining power at all. And if it drags on all window the risk is they have to accept any offer that comes in for Digne late on.

Loan + £15-20m fee I reckon.

You were up Benitez's arse until he started to struggle then did a U Turn and started attacking other posters to look cool.

You're a two faced flute lar.
Until he started to struggle for 12 games (3 months)...

And like anybody with a brain, changed my stance from backing the manager to wanting rid.

Welcome to the class of common sense, 2022.

Bit worrying that Patterson doesn't seem to get a lot of game time. I know their right back is the club captain but to me it looks like he'll be coming in as an understudy to Coleman for the next 6-12 months which wouldn't be ideal.
Feel that about both lads with the lb and godfrey. Have to be looking to bring in another 2 atleast, hopefully can make some more sales to help us go out

Which would be abysmal. And the worst thing is it wouldn't surprise me.

Signed for £18m. He signed a deal until 2024 (I think) just earlier this year. He's a top-quality left-back with some of the best numbers in Europe in terms of productivity.

In his prime as a FB, a regular for France, PL, CL, elite-club experience.

I would be shocked if we got more than a £20m fee for him. Gobsmacked even.

£14M for ANY rangers player is a complete luagh...for one who cant even get in their first team is an utter calamity. What's their record for a sale? Way below £14M.

I could only see such a deal happening if Everton had insisted on £4M up front and add-ons based on the club reaching Europe and / or domestic cup finals - neither of which are likely anytime soon.
This aged well

£35m isn’t happening. I think we would be looking at £25m tops.

So until very recently you backed him.

So you agree with me.
I don't agree with you.

I backed him for as long as common sense permitted.

As soon as it became painstakingly obvious that it was HIM who was negatively impacting games 60 minutes before kick off with his selections...

Common sense no longer permits.

It's very clear he was never the right man for the job.

Therefor, I now call for his head.

I know that might be hard for you to comprehend...

Still with me so far?
