Yes perhaps you're right in a 4231 - depends whether or not you're recruiting with a post-Benitez world in mind!

You only have to look back to Silva's tenure - 8th in his 1st season, loses Gana and Zouma in the summer and we end up in the bottom 3 the season after getting cut through like butter.

If Benitez is persisting with a 4231 he needs those 2 signings otherwise I cant see much improvement imo.

A bit unfair on Coleman who has been a fantastic servant for this club until recent failures by management have forced him to extend his playing career at premiership level longer than he probably himself would have chosen
Ok, fair enough I would remove Coleman for his service and make him cover for next year, but I still don’t think he ability is fit enough to wear the shirt

A few players I’m gonna look out for at the AFCON, some have been linked, some mentioned on here.

Samuel Chuckweze (22) Nigeria Right winger (left footed) been linked for a while, has one year left on his contract at Villareal this summer.

Kamaldeen Sulemana (19) Ghana left winger at Rennes. Highly rated Contract to 2026, could be the next big thing off their production line, (see Raphinha)

Idrissa Baba Ghana. (25) CM. R. Mallorca, contract to 2024, been linked with him since the summer, rumored buyout clause £10-15m.

Edmound Tapsoba (22) Burkina Faso, CB. currently at B Leverkusen, contract to 2026, probably out of our league but going to watch to see why he’s rated.

Panutche Cámara (24) Guinea Bissau CM, big jump from League 1 but he’s way better that that level, been immense for Plymouth the last two seasons, out of contract this summer, box to box player, very quick, would be a cheap option to cover Doucoure’s position.
Algeria is the team to watch for growing talent

Curious rumor. If I were to select any of our CBs as a fit for Burnley, Holgate would be the last one I’d think made sense.
I’d imagine mainly because of his price, £10m for a young CB with Prem experience is good value. Maybe Dyche thinks he can make him better. Shame they aren’t interested in Keane too.

Tarkowski out of contract soon too.

Until the Brighton game there were 44% of those who voted on the Benitez thread supporting him.

Do you hold the same opinion of them?
Thankful that it is the minority supporting this manager because this club cant continue to back spectacularly failing managers like RB, all the warning signs are there...

Perhaps your idea for success is staying up and playing 5-4-1 at home to teams that have been inferior to us for the last 100-odd years, certainly not mine.

This board and this manager is not good enough and from that end Benitez must go, the longer he stays the more damage he is doing....

The season is over, we stay up and build for next year. He will still be in the job because it isn’t his team.

If he’s going to Burnley I’d guess it’s to play right back he’s not a dyche centre half in a million years.

Dont agree the season is over...... We may need some results to save our PL status.

Newcastle will go on a run, Leeds are back to winning ways and IF Watford or Burnley have an upturn in fortune we are in serious trouble.

RB talks about a winning mentality but all we`ve done in the majority of games he has managed is LOSE, thats not something you just turn around by selling your best players, playing 5-4-1 defensive football and signing 20 year olds having never played in the league.

Really worried we are becoming a 5 at the back team, we need to be offensive to get the crowd up like when we played Arsenal.

Odd seeing skint Everton on the front page twice.
