Everton January 2022 Transfer Thread

Patterson and Mykolenko are exactly the types of signings we should be making as opposed to paying over the odds for players who have failed at other big clubs in their late 20s, with their best years behind them. My only concern with the new signings is they are coming into a team and manager that are struggling. It’s a pity they weren’t recruited last January, when we were in the top 6, but I guess FFP regulations and availability wouldn’t allow it.

They're exactly the type of signings we should be making if they're good it's as simple as that. We have a habit of getting very excited about things without knowing whether its a good thing or not. We've signed other players in this sort of group before and it hasn't worked out so its not a new thing really we just need to hope these ones work better.

Very true mate. But I’m sick of players being recruited in their late 20s with diminishing transfer value and performance. At least with these two we can move these players on and receive a fee if either don’t succeed, as opposed to allowing ageing players to run down their large contracts with no resale value.

Yes you're right mate it's a good point I was more thinking of the people who keep talking about them being young and hungry as if it's somehow any different from 99% of the other players we've signed who've failed.

The only hunger our signings have shown since Moshiri took over is the hunger to net themselves as big a contract as possible and run it down.

Anyone decipher this thread? Sound like clubs are manging to record increases in revenue plus some TV money went up.

I know our finances arnt out yet but it may leave us a bit more wiggle room with transfers. It it some sort of work around of the accounts
