Yeah that's true but there's a big difference between footy now and 6/7 years ago mate, never mind 15-20. The game's moved on.

the only good teams that play 4231 atm are Bayern, Ajax and Milan. And they play it very well and in very different leagues.

Theres nothing wrong with the formation if we had players to play it effectively.

No way we get rid of that many players this window.

I did say 2 windows.

Why does anyone bother quoting that idiot?

He's a failed football chairman with a big gob who talks utter bollocks for effect.

We have handled his game management horribly this season. We should have gave small cameos to build up match fitness so he can contribute to the squad. Being out for two years would be difficult and play a half of football against the wolves won’t do any justice. I hope he gets a loan and comes back a better player for. We invested 25 mil for a reason, not giving up yet .
I agree I don't trust Benitez's handling of him or judgement of players, he should have given him minutes off the bench a few starts and even some games in the u23s. He needs a run of games likely out on loan now before we can make any judgement. Seems he's another player he has just jettisoned.

He was exactly the type of player we should have been signing at the time - A position we needed, young, up and coming and powerful. He's had rotten luck with injuries so in hindsight it looks like a terrible signing

Out of all the crap signings we've made over the past 5 years, he's probably the one I feel most indifferent about - just a bad luck story
He is one that it might be worth loaning out so he can get a run of games to see if he can recapture the form that had us buy him. The gamble being if he is down for non stop bad luck.

"Run of games".

Ha ha Ha.

Is this a joke?

The feller cant walk to the shops for the paper without returning in plaster.

This is what does my head in most - do you really think either of those is a good idea?

As default tactical setups go both are terrible - they might work away at a big club when half the team is injured, but not all the time.
The entire world can see that persevering with just Allan and Doucoure in the middle isn't working so Mr. Creosote will persevere to prove that he is right and everyone else is wrong.
