Everton January 2022 Transfer Thread

Gbamin criticism is very unfair.

People say 'Signing a player from Germany for 25m, Everton that'.

No, what would be very Everton would be letting him go for 8m and watch him hit the ground running at his next club because they actually gave him a couple of games to get back to match fitness.

We're going in for Longstaff when it may be very unnecessary and we could prioritize a CB this window.

Start Gbamin in a 3 man midfield against Hull... so we can assess fairly.
We have handled his game management horribly this season. We should have gave small cameos to build up match fitness so he can contribute to the squad. Being out for two years would be difficult and play a half of football against the wolves won’t do any justice. I hope he gets a loan and comes back a better player for. We invested 25 mil for a reason, not giving up yet .

with the exception of digne, surely nobody is stupid enough to buy our players
Get what you're saying but we would have no problem selling Pickford, Godfrey, doucoure, Allan, richarlison, Calvert lewin or branthwaite. They aren't the problem though.

I reckon we'd also be able to offload holgate for a decent fee and he's poo.

I think it was Paul Joyce who said we want a winger next, seems a mad one to me. Surely CB or CM needs to be addressed next? We're well stocked out wide; Gray, Townsend, Gordon, Iwobi (vommits) and Richarlison can play out wide too.

He is a Benitez loyalist and he will need loyal men when civil war breaks out. Along with Rondon this is his "Phil Neville" presence in the dressing room.

I cant think of any other reason a substantdard player would be brought in.
