Same would be one of my first choices if looking for a cm if we have the money
I’m a massive Bissouma fan, I’ve been banging the drum for sometime but the lad they signed from Salzburg in the summer, Mwepu, who plays in the middle with him, has been considerably better than Bissouma.

He ran the show against us last week.

So does anyone know the next time this club can theoretically spend big(ish) again ? I know the wages for all our underperforming dossers have been holding us back but we've offloaded quite a few them recently and probably bin another 1 or 2 in the summer.

Or are we stuck spending pennies for the next decade similar to Arsenal when they got a new stadium.

Are we even one of the top ten most attractive clubs to join in the Prem right now?
I’d say probably not. The financial problems and events/results of the last ten months have just killed us as a football club.

In the summer we'll be rid of Tosun, Kenny, Gyifi, Begovic + Longeran (I think) and Delph - assuming he doesn't get a new 1 year deal on reduced terms, so that should help the wage budget a lot. Of course, it will be taken up again by any big signings.

As for FFP/big spending, I'm personally of the opinion it is a very convinient excuse for Moshiri to reign in the spending to a large degree, but still get to make the right noises to appease the fans. He's seen over £400m of his money wasted on dross with very little resale value, and is now probably thinking to himself no more big spending, plod along in the Prem, don't get relegated, sign a player or two if we really need to, but reassess the situation once the new stadium move happens.

Villa will be the next team challenging for Europe this season with West Ham and Wolves, they are miles better than us and with the type of signings they are making are heading in to the distance and over the hills.....
3 points ahead and
We have a game, in hand we’ve been utter garbage yet and on similar points and all so have had horrendous injuries.

I listened to a pod today and they mentioned villa about finishing top 6/7 this season. I guarantee if smith was still in charge, they wouldn’t have even mentioned villa
