Everton January 2022 Transfer Thread

So from what Im getting from the transfer activity, after hearing the criticism about not running a three man midfield, Benitez has decided to move down to a 1 man midfield.

This should go well.
Genuinely reckon he’s trying to see how many defenders we can have on the pitch at a time.
Think he’s up to six so far.

Im a big fan of Allans, have been for years.

31 now and cant play effectively in a 2.

Linked to Lazio who are managed by Sarri who happens to be Allans biggest fan.

Id expect it to be a loan with an obligation...

...however:
Luiz Felipe is Lazio's Brazilian centre back who is quality and 24 years old.

Hes out of contract in the summer. A swap between both would be an exceptional deal for us.

Regarding Holgate, Badiashile and Tchouameni are two young big athletic young monsters at Monaco. Left sided centre back and a defensive midfielder.

Sell Digne and give them Holgate + cash for one or two of them.

Honestly if we got both id be confident we'd have two major stars in a couple of seasons.

Lots of guesswork but lets see lol

For me these things are very simple. Allan was brought in to play Ancelotti’s system. If Benitez has concluded he’s not what we need now though, let’s get him out the door for decent value and someone who does fit in.

I’m just not sentimental about any player in the current squad. They’ve all disappointed me so many times. Yeah I think Allan is one of the better ones we currently have, but I’m not going to give it a second thought if he was moved out and we got an effective replacement.

Pace, power, technique, desire. Every player coming through the door now should have as many of these as possible.

I said earlier that Allan is not a long term prospect for us but unless we have replacements lined up we simply can't afford to release a player who has played nearly every game for us this season.

Midfield is an area we already desperately to improve with an extra man. Getting rid of allan means we need 2.

Don't think anybody is being sentimental about him - just concerned he is making a bad squad in relegation form even worse by replacing our better players with unknown quantities at a time when we need them.

It's not a summer rebuild.

I hope not. But rumours circulating we would let him go on loan and that Sarri has called him directly asking him to go to lazio. If a player wants to leave, they leave. A la Digne.
Why would we let him go on loan, rumours we will let Gbamin go on loan. Doesn’t make sense. A player who’s in the team, also an area we’re quite weak in.

Unless
1) it’s obligation and a nice fee
2) we have one/two midfielders lined up
