We need to remember that installments still need to be paid which means that previous years are still owed. I keep seeing that a £30m player is only £6m but these all add up when you've bought numerous players on the same principle

Golovin can play in multiple places though I am not sure he is stout enough for a CM role. He is talented on the ball, can pass it a bit and is not a statue. Better quality than anyone else we have been linked with. (faint praise though that)

I see him as a player that would solely be able to play in the 3 attacking positions behind the forward.

He's a good player...is he what we need? Not for me.

Id much rather we went to Tchouameni (DM) or Badiashile (CB) if were speaking with Monaco.

Any move for Golovin screams Moshiri/Usmanov to me.

£25-30mil for him would probably be his market price but that could be far better spent imo.

Thats true but also lets keep in mind that we have this season + 2 more until the 3 year cycle is completely reset for FFP + P/S.

So we could afford to benefit short term with the payments spread out and then pick up the slack by extending deals in year 3 to then lower the £6mil a year further.

i rather have El Gazhi than Wobi. I rather have Longstaff than Delph. We need a better bench. But i agree i had hoped for better.

We'll have El Ghazi AND Iwobi, we'll have Longstaff AND Delph. These types of signings do absolutely nothing for us. This window is turning into a dumpster fire.

Neres for 15 million would've seemed better deal. Albeit he's hobbled.

Add in the cost of the time machine in order to send him back to when he was any good, and it soon mounts up, mate.

Possibly but I thought more sort out midfield.

If it was me, id get in a specialist defensive midfielder.

We can use someone screening the defence and the performance of say Branthwaite and Godfrey would improve with that person ahead of them.

Currently Doucoure and Allan both press as is their nature but neither are really DMs.

I don’t think we’ll go for Longstaff or Barkley, but even if we did, give me players who want to be here and will follow the managers instructions over ones that don’t.

I just don’t understand the loyalty to the current squad. They’ve disappointed us so many times and seen multiple managers fired. Why are we so adverse to moving them out and bringing in different players?

Because the players we are linked with are terrible?
