And why oh why did we let Benitez bring in players. Why did we not sack him prior to the window?

Only reality is for us to go up the M62 and ask our old friends if we can loan Van de Beek or Lingard until the end of the season to give us a bit more creativity in midfield.

Its weird cos those full backs dont even seem to be benitez type players? Surely we can afford a midfielder on loan... El ghazi was insane tho, the only position we have some depth

Digne Hamez and Guilty were by far are most creative from open play and all are gone, dying for some creativity

Those 3 going are a big part of the reason we're struggling. Barkley on loan isn't great but he'd improve our creativity enough to maybe pick up some of those "expected" wins

The other thing with Barkley is that if we don’t get him then one of our relegation rivals probably will. They strengthen and we are left with a championship midfield and a championship defence.

Moshiri has also already used up one of our loans by bringing in a 5th choice winger.

He'd HAVE to be more mobile than Gomes and not as crap as Davies. It's a terribly low bar.

We actually need several midfield players, an attacking midfielder to provide creativity another box to box to cover doucoure and the most pressing need in my mind is a defensive Midfielder especially on who can potentially play as deep lying playmaker

VDB would have a lot to play for if we got him until end of season. Has WC end of year and should be fresh as has hardly played.
No brainer imo to play in a 3, seemed really good linking defense and attack at Ajax and we have no one else atm who can do that.
