Isn't he a no 10? Might not be the worst thing mind, but of creativity or goal threat. But a midfielder who can help get control of a game as well.

The other thing with Barkley is that if we don’t get him then one of our relegation rivals probably will. They strengthen and we are left with a championship midfield and a championship defence.

Moshiri has also already used up one of our loans by bringing in a 5th choice winger.
