And to people are turning their noses up at someone like RLC, you realize who our current options are, right? He slots straight into our first 11 if he comes.
In all seriousness, if we have a fit squad, I don't think he gets in our team.

He started 3 games for Lampard at Chelsea.

Of all the players we've been linked with, he and Barkley are the ones who make the least sense to me

If we play a midfield 3 he probably does. Our midfield is rubbish and we can't keep playing 442.
You're talking about a conversation which is RLC vs Gomes, effectively, and I don't think it's anything like as cut and dried as people seem to think

He wasn't a regular starter for Fulham last season from what I remember.

Carries the ball well enough, strong. But he has all the defensive frailties of Gomes and slightly less guile, albeit he's more of a physical presence and quicker across the ground.

Surely there are better options?

1. We never have a fit squad
2. He’s playing even if we do. Think he’s as good if not better than both Allan and Doucs
3. Absolute worst case he’d be our 3rd best midfielder when all players are fit so gives us an option/sub we could use when needed that isn’t a ridiculous drop in quality

There probably are but its 29 January and our midfield options are very bad.

We need to play 3 in midfield to make up for weaknesses in our midfield options. That means we need to get someone in, even if its not our first option on the list.

I couldn't possibly disagree more with your 2nd point, but opinions I guess
