Maybe a left field one. Ethan Ampadu. Was at Leipzig at a young age when lookman was there, that was obviously a tough gig fir him. Was then at Sheffield Utd, but they were already down. But this season has been in Italy playing as a number 6 And been doing very well be all accounts. Last couple of games he’s been moved around as a RB and CB in a 3

Also fits the number 6 frank likes in a midfield 3 apparently, very Comfortable on the ball, quick across the pitch. And you’d expect him to be defensively sound, having played CB

Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has said on The Transfer Show on Sky Sports News that Villa midfield Luiz is among the players Everton are looking at signing in the January transfer window.

Solhekol said on Sky Sports’ The Transfer Show (January 28, 2021): “Everton could make a late move for a midfielder before the window closes.

£15mil for Douglas Luiz?

His contract expires in summer 2023 and they paid abour £15mil for him so it 'could' be possible.

Id have him here in a heartbeat.

That would be a good signing.

Loftus-Cheek is certainly injury prone, but he would be perfect for us on a loan. He's a true midfielder unlike Dele. While I think Chelsea likely want to hold on to both, I'd like to see us go hard for Gilmour and Gallagher in the summer.

Or obviously non Chelsea players too, but this is where the speculation starts at least.

On that note, Broja would also be a potentially good DCL replacement.

What we need is a DM and an attacking midfielder. RLC is just a totem pole really who looked best at Palace as a 2nd striker...Fellaini lite.

Alli would also play 2nd striker or the attacking midfielder role.

Broja looks menacing and could be ideal for us to bring in to rotate with DCL.

Very hard to see how we would be able to spend the money Broja would cost and also what DM we could get.

Gilmour will only have 12 months left on his contract this summer. With the pull of Lampard and his good friend Patterson at the club I think that's one we could very realistically make happen.

Didnt know about the 12months left.

I forgot the games now but under Lampard be was motm against some big sides from memory.

Could be a good move.

He's back at Chelsea rehabbing a ankle knock with his return to Norwich to be assessed as they haven't met the requirements on games played for him

I like Ampadu. He was a bit lightweight and probably not going to reach the heights expected a couple of years ago.

Gilmour had more of an impact when under Lampard. Strange his Norwich loan has gone so poorly.

If we play a midfield 3 he probably does. Our midfield is rubbish and we can't keep playing 442.

In all seriousness, if we have a fit squad, I don't think he gets in our team.

He started 3 games for Lampard at Chelsea.

Of all the players we've been linked with, he and Barkley are the ones who make the least sense to me

RLC walks into our team, in fact most premier league players would.

Frank wouldn’t come in to a club in free fall without the promise of some funds to strengthen.

You would also expect he has a bonus clause to keep us up, we are in free fall, not going to happen without funding for signings

Liked Gilmore the moment I saw him, although looked a bit lightweight, but a proper footballer from years gone by, not a big muscular athlete like most of them are in today's game. Seems to have lost his way a bit. Whether or not thats cause of injury and he's not robust enough to be consistent at the highest level I don't know. But might be worth a punt.

Does this mean Longstaff isn’t coming……
