I think Gueye may be our best option is there was any possibility it could be done.

Remember Lampard played Kante as a box to box player....Jorginho or Gilmour as the DM.

Id wager we'd see someone like those two as the DM. Could it be Luiz?

Otherwise, Gana Allan and Doucoure all favour going forwards to press...we need someone to sit really.

In reference to your earlier question btw, Gilmour is back at Norwich hsving rehabbed his ankle knock and in contention for their cup game.

So I'd approach Chelsea to try get him, almost certainly they'd recall and loan him us I think. Hell if we actually have any money try buy the kid as he's got 18 months left and Gallagher's emergence on loan probably sees Gilmour further away from breaking back into the Chelsea team.

He's contract expires in 2023 so might be asking for alot of wages to extend?

Kamara is class, would be ideal for us. Literally perfect...as would Guimaraes.

Different players but perfect for our DM role.
Maybe a bit more attainable is Ibrahim Sangare. Could see Kamara and Guimaraes making the immediate jump to larger clubs. Sangare a bit of a comparable player to those two, but being in the Eredivisie I think might be a little more willing to come to us than those other two?

Lets see what the Norwich fans think of Gilmour hey :

Any chance Arsenal can give him a lift back to London??? Not even Conference level, utter bag of crap!!

Not what we need at all right now. Sending him home in January and recycling the loan spot is a must. Not that the rest of them were any good either.

Must be dropped. He is the biggest catalyst to our inevitable relegation.
The whole team looks poor but he is the man in heart of the formation and looks like a kid completely out of his depth.

Looks a big fraud.

I've previously said that I think Gilmour will be a top player one day and that he's ok with the ball. I realise now how mistaken I was. He is woeful and should never play for us again. We would actually be better playing with 10 men.

If he is the answer, what is the question?

Just the exact type of player we didn’t need this season, not physical, not strong. He will be good in a team that dominate the pitch, however revert to my first sentence, we just didn’t learn from two years ago.

Awful, awful player

He just looks like a child against men. Opponents don’t even have to tackle him, just ease him out of the way. Too slow and too weak.

Ok lads.

I put a post up earlier today about Chelsea players I'd have (quite a lot). It is not unreasonable to think, if the lad is close to Lampard and/or one of their coaches he may push for a move and not sign a deal. He may not be the only one. I'm sure a lot of the younger lads see what he did for Pulisic, James, Mount, Abraham, Tomori etc and it stands him in good stead.

It weakens their negotiating position, and honestly we may stand a chance. I dont know how much capital we have available, but I'd be happy to buy Gilmour at a discount.

I have a feeling Mr Usmanov may be announcing a bit sponsorship soon.

I’ve not seen enough of him but isn’t he supposed to be a bit Jorginho? Can’t imagine that’s what Norwich need right now, might work in a 3 with Allan and Doucoure doing leg work for him? No idea tbh, just devils advocate.

The lads really young, clearly just needs time, wouldnt be against signing him for the future, but hes not for these next 18 games, IMO.
