Not to be pedantic here, but Gray really isn't all that creative.

He's only just overtaken Digne for us on chances created, despite having played seven more games

He's not a creative winger at all. He basically gets the ball and has one thought which is attack the goal/box and occasionally he puts a decent cross in.

So what a player like VVB, or Alli, if coached right, offers is an extra threat to take a defender away from Gray. Villa marked him out of the game the other day by constantly doubling up on him.

Spare me your stats.

Gray can carry the ball to the byeline or into the box, and pick a pass without panicking because there are defenders nearby.

That's ideal for a player who knows how to time a run.

Doctoring Bill's and Kia's transfer agenda at night, which I assume would be Ross Barkley for Bill and someone truly equally heinous from Kia let's say Jack Wilshire

Every keeper in the top half aside from Ramsdale (they're the same level imo) and this version of Schmeichel I'd swap straight up. West Ham have two who are at worst even. Martinez at Villa is also clearly better.

So he's the 10th best keeper? Sounds average to me.
