Everton January 2022 Transfer Thread

What I am glad about is at least it seems like we're going to try and get the best out of our best players who are all, right now, attackers, rather than rely on Keane and Godfrey and Holgate (if he stays) to try and keep clean sheets.

Our defence is naff and there's no chance we sign this mythically good CB that's somehow available in January this window, so we're gonna have to try and outscore all the tosh around us.

I'd still have liked us to look at that side of things BUT if Mina can stay fit then him and Branthwaite/Godfrey is still solid in my books if they're coached properly by Clement.

Seems he's for this one:

Merson: Alli could be 'the signing of any window'

Sky Sports' Paul Merson speaking on Sky Sports News:
"Alli needs to get back to doing what he was best at doing - which is exactly what Frank Lampard was best at doing - making late runs and scoring goals.
"That's what Lampard sees in him, and he's going for him. If he can get him doing that, I think he would be the signing of any window.
"He makes great runs, times them right, he's a good finisher, he's big, he's a good athlete - he ticks every box, he's just got to get back to that. He's lost his way a little bit."
I hate Merson's tone of voice. I just don't like him so even when he says something positive it winds me up.
