Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Love all these we aren’t getting relegated shouts. We’re still very much in and around the relegation battle until mathematically it’s not possible. Get hit with anymore injuries and an already thin squad becomes even thinner. Talks of Broja coming back sooner than expected I fully expect to see him return then become injured again, can see DCL having a set back. It’s a sad state of affairs when we’re praying Beto doesn’t get injured

If we win our game in hand - yes I know who it is against and it is a big IF - we will be 13th above Man Utd on goal difference, That is a lot of teams in worse form than us beneath us and also in the battle then!

It is but as I said until it’s mathematically impossible the crap we’ve had to put up with last 3 seasons nothing is a surprise anymore, let’s hope that’s all behind us and can look to some kind of future with stability and a plan to progress us in every aspect.

These players have gotten countless managers sacked. Just when you think its safe to go back in the water they take a large bite out of your hope. Praying that they prove me wrong

These players havent got a single manager sacked.

Not once have these group of players dialled it in, they have simply followed the managers instructions like the pros they are.

If that's happening then it's not down to buying in January and it being 'a risk', it's down to being ineffective in targeting players well in advance of it and getting value for money.

This business of "I'd rather we kept our powder dry for the summer" is for the birds.

There'll be no great value signings then because the game has changed vastly since Moyes was getting us Cahill and Arteta for 10 bob.
This was an opportunity lost, not a window where we dodged bullets.
With some of the pressure off It was an opportunity to try and buy a young player from another league for the future. I don’t agree with everything Davek says. But I do agree we should have done more. Either scouting is dreadful, the club didn’t back the Dof/mgr or the manager vetoed everything, or maybe all three. Palace signed the kid from Millwall, that was a move that could have been made in this window. .

When was the last time Everton made that move, Brands and JB? Now there is more pressure for summer and one injury could derail all the good work. I don’t believe it’s all on KT, Moyes, or TFG. But I think it is fair to say they failed this window, we are better in the table but thinner as a team

There is no one that could have been had from a team bounced from Europe?

I wish we brought in at least one player at the same time I don't think people realize how tight the market is unless your club is in Europe, bournemouth who are chasing Europe never replace their two injured strikers, crystal palace brought in perpetually injured bemoaning chillwell when they only have 3 fit Cbs, injuries are bad for a lot of clubs only players available are not in favor or if you have absurd money to pry away players.
