Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

You have to laugh that 2 of the 4 highest goalscorers in Serie A failed so badly at Everton.

The level of ineptitude is staggering.

Yeah, we also slated Gordon as a crap finisher as well šŸ˜‚, he has t do exactly badly since leaving either...

As for the two lads in Italy - think Keane was too young, too immature and frankly not bothered enough about improving when we had him, he busted out of better clubs than us before ending up at Fiorentina. He's mid 20's now though and the penny seemed to drop he was gonna go down as a waste of talent. Lookman still surprises me, a case of the perfect club, system and manager for him.

Idk about Moise Keane, but I do think Lookman was good and never really settled here. I don't think it helped our case that our managers didn't want to deal with egos (and that includes Carlo). Ade could have succeeded if he had played centrally from the start here (he looked bright in that position), but Silva did not like his attitude. I wish he was given the chance.

ā€¦.Lookman was super talented but I think it was more a case of the Penny finally dropping with him. Maybe he got married, maybe he became a Dad, I have no idea but it might have been more about what was going on in his head rather than any failing from the various clubs he represented.

Who knows. He was clearly good but you can tell he was never right here mentally. Would have liked to see him get that chance regardless but it's no use dwelling on it now. I still think Silva failed with him the same way Carlo failed with Gordon. But that is more my opinion obviously
