Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

His injury history isn't like too bad, mostly ankle, not muscle thankfully.

I don't think we'd get him but loan + option would be amazing.

He's not 21 till next October. He would be the best striker we've had since Lukaku instantly and is a much better all-round forward than Rom was.
Don't think we can loan of another English team

His contract will be terminated mutually mate. Same thing happened to Erekson at inter.

He's legally unable to play which means basically the contract is voided.

Take the lad in a heartbeat (no pun intended)

Me too, and I'd be happy to take him on a free in that case.

I'm not sure that anyone is obliged to terminate the contract though. I think Roma are still entitled to sell him should they find a buyer and Bove agrees to move to a league that will allow him to play.

Roma getting a fee for a player that they would have otherwise lost on a free would definitely reduce the Roma fans fury at paying a fee for Doucoure. The risk that we'd take on with Bove would also be more palatable knowing that he allowed us to get an inflated fee for Doucoure.

This is just speculation about how TFG may benefit from multi club ownership. It is an example in which everybody would win imo.

Lukaku wasn’t as out there as some suggestions on here.
He really wasn't. He'd just come off the back of loan to West Brom and came to us when we'd just finished 6th, once they'd decided they were willing to loan him out we were pretty much the best club that were going to be in for him. Then the same when we bought him, we'd just finished 5th and he'd had a successful loan here, it wasn't really a surprise at all.

Everton were the only club in for him at 28m? Is this just in your head?

Chelsea signed Lukaku at their peak, they were one of the biggest and most successful teams in the world at that point and still saw Lukaku as a prospect who could break into their first team.

All due respect to Rigg and Dibling they may never be as good as Jack Harrison, they may never achieve what he has. That’s a fact, they may well achieve far far more (their talent suggests as much) - what I’m saying is in our current guise we can’t speculate that for 60m.

If you think we can then best of luck to you, in the real world Jack Clarke (far better than either of them currently) has really struggled so far in the prem.

We’d be signing for the future whilst relegating ourselves in the present, bizarre policy.

Remind me who else were trying to loan Lukaku when Everton went for him?

Remind me who else offered the £28mil aside from Everton?

Genuinely dont believe you've seen either of them play -- to equate Jack Clarke & Jack Harrison with either is comical.

You're talking about the future as if Dibling wouldnt be our best right winger.

If youve not seen them play just say so...nothing to be embarassed about and it doesnt make your general opinion less valid.

Were any of these u21;

Lescott
Arteta
Cahill
Baines
Pienaar
Jagielka

When we signed them?

All could/were moved on for more than we paid for them and yet we still had several years of exemplary performances on the whole.

Players don’t have to be u21 to hold value/develop. Again get off FM for a minute and live in reality.

Were those the best players you've seen play for Everton or something?

Cahill left the club over 12 years ago, Lescott over 15 years ago.

The game has evolved significantly.

Those players transfer fees would now be £20-30million a pop.

Roma also have their own version of Roman Dixon (17 year old, under 21, international right back) in the form of Buba Sangare. Brexit prevents international transfers for under 18's. But come the summer, they'd be a good match for a PSR swap. He's also called Roman, so fate must be at work.

Check out Mattia Mannini, another RB they have and Cristian Cama a left back.

Renato Marin the keeper is highly rated too.

Theyve got 5 players in the italy u18 squad :o

It’s not about goals. It’s about having a tangible proven track record. The kids you are mentioning have done absolutely nothing in the game. None of Keane, Vlasic or Lookman gave us anything in the short term. If we sign players like that in Jan. we will get relegated and any profit we might make on them in the future will be a drop in the ocean compared to lost revenue.

Yes, I am certain that signing a top young right winger (which we need) and a top young central midfielder (which we need) would relegate the team who dont get relegated.

Fabulous post ;)

Fiorentina beat us to Amir Richardson in the summer and he seems to have done nothing there.

The one player I think would be a steal from them would be Michael Kayode. Looks a super young right back (great last season) but cant get past Dodo for them this season.

Bove seems to be a good player but isnt it extremely high risk? Id be frightened for him.

Following Newcastle's takeover they brought in two full backs, a creative midfielder and Chris Woods (who only scored 3 goals) and their season was transformed.

They did not have PSR issues but there are quick fixes that could change the team quite a bit. Hopefully we can be just as forensic.

Go and offer Southampton £5m for Walker-Peters. He walks for free in the summer otherwise.

Get Beto out in the next few weeks, get Patterson loaned out if he's not in the manager's plans, and get as good a winger in as we can afford.

1x starting full back and 1x starting winger would be an absolutely huge difference to this side.

You'd think Southampton would now be trying to sell players and sign the ones who they hope will bring them up next season.

Fernandes, Dibling & Walker Peters would cover three positions needed.

Harwood-Belis as well if we can move Keane on early or flip O'Brien.

Would be offering alot less than that last couple of months in contract, would be looking to 1-3 mill and thats even if we can wait till the end of the season to get him. As rb we have alot of cover, the tierney shouts i get is a risk so at his age and injuries would have to be on a deal that would be more benefits to us meaning a low contract but with added buts to make sure he stays fit. Defo need another lb
