Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

What do you think has happened to him and his development mate?
He succumbed too the Brighton lifestyle and isn't that bothered/focused on football as much anymore is basically the long and short of it, the usual too much to soon, talk of him being a £100m player at such a young age did him no favours imo. He seems to be slowly making his way back into the first team on the bench so we will see how it goes.

Obvious isn't it ? Always injured. Never cut it at Arsenal. Too many good Scottish left backs, like so many. Hickey surpassed him almost immediately when he went foreign. I also think, like Patterson, there's a misconception that coming from Old Firm means you're at A good level. I think that success rate is very low comparatively. I personally don't think he's very good. Appreciate the short sleeves in cold weather though.

*weren't on about Tierney were you ? 🤣🤣

I mean his injury troubles haven’t helped but reports down south (think @Simon Buttle knows more) is that he’s maybe spending a bit too much time out on the town and potentially stuff in his nose.

Not sure moving to Liverpool would help that mind.

Edit: missed Simon’s response but yeh, that. Shame really. Hope he comes back because he has every tool to be incredible.

The truth is that Bove is going to be viewed as damaged goods in Italy due to their rules on pacemakers. I highly doubt that Fiorentina will continue with their loan that required him to play 60% of games for it to become an obligation. Roma will be lucky to get any money for him at all.

A nice little inflated swap for Doucoure would be best for everyone.

Roma also have their own version of Roman Dixon (17 year old, under 21, international right back) in the form of Buba Sangare. Brexit prevents international transfers for under 18's. But come the summer, they'd be a good match for a PSR swap. He's also called Roman, so fate must be at work.

Need to find a new Baines. Tierney is not him.
I really thought he would be when he broke through at first, injuries have really hampered him. At Celtic he had all the tools, played great in Europe. Played central at times for Scotland in a back 3 with Robertson left, really intelligent player who bombed on a lot. Arsenal mate of mine said he would walk into the team if fitness wasn't an issue, by all accounts he was misdiagnosed injurya wise and made things progressing worse.

You're comparing goals scored by a centre forward with a centre mid and right winger -- not to mention the English tax.

Kean, Vlasic, Lookman are just 3 other young players who didnt tear up trees that we moved on for profit. I doubt we'd struggle with two of Englands best emerging talents in areas were weak in.
It’s not about goals. It’s about having a tangible proven track record. The kids you are mentioning have done absolutely nothing in the game. None of Keane, Vlasic or Lookman gave us anything in the short term. If we sign players like that in Jan. we will get relegated and any profit we might make on them in the future will be a drop in the ocean compared to lost revenue.

His contract will be terminated mutually mate. Same thing happened to Erekson at inter.

He's legally unable to play which means basically the contract is voided.

Take the lad in a heartbeat (no pun intended)

Poss. Needs a change of scenery for sure.
Interested if you'd take the risk on the lad - and what Brighton would be asking for?

If the rumours are true not sure Brighton to Liverpool is gonna be a change that sees him settle down with slippers and give up the nose candy though.

If true wonder if the injuries were more to do with that and keeping him clear of failing a drug test...

His injury history isn't like too bad, mostly ankle, not muscle thankfully.

I don't think we'd get him but loan + option would be amazing.

He's not 21 till next October. He would be the best striker we've had since Lukaku instantly and is a much better all-round forward than Rom was.
