Left backs don't win games. We need someone who doesn't fill their pants when they get a sight of goal. A finisher is the ultimate priority.

I don`t think that will happen with Broja coming back to full fitness and Chemiti back in training - unless Beto goes of course.

I’d hoped that the days of talking about psr and finances were behind us but were we not reportedly paying debt payments of £1 million a week. If a healthy chunk of this has been paid off does that
not give some leeway. We are halfway
through the financial year.

Of course TFG may not be basing their strategy on having to do a forced sale in June.

Sadly we have no one to sell to make any wiggle room short of Branthwaite or Pickford.

The rest are either too old, injured or their contracts are expiring.

Lets hope a Saudi Arabian comes in for
someone.

I think if Broja can stay fit then a striker drops down the pecking order, but if he doesn't continue with how he looks in his few cameos this maybe bumps up to main priority. And I wouldn't be adverse to another centre midfielder who can play in behind the striker so we can try and limit the amount of Doucoure on the pitch.

This is if we are even able to spend, as them mentioning PSR in their opening suggests we might still be hamstrung.

He just isn't enough of a threat for me tbh, even pre injuries at Saints he just doesn't score enough.

You're probably right, although as I've said repeatedly, I do think that our system (and those trying to implement it) are more likely a contributor to our lack of goals.

The squad needs to be improved - I ain't saying otherwise - yet are we getting the best out of what we currently have? Nah, not for me, so that's the key change.

That in itself will help our strikers (whoever they are... DCL, Broja or someone else) contribute more goals.

Agree with this tbh but I think Dyche will get to see his contract out tbh, its just less hassle all round from the clubs point of view, frustrating as it is for fans. It would take a bad run like last season for them to get rid imo.

Everton will reject the chance to sign Leeds United's Jack Harrison permanently once his second loan spell at Goodison Park ends, as per journalist Graeme Bailey.

Because we could.

I think we will spend/bring players in but it won't be loads mate, we were always going to be under certain constraints due to the rules. TFG need time to get various sponsorships and other commercial stuff sorted which will help but it was never going to be straight off the bat imo. Anyone who thought we were going on a big spending spree in a January window (notoriously awkward time to buy) is just a bit silly really or don't understand the recruitment process.

I dont think anyone thought we'd spend big in Jan.

I do think if Thelwell has a target or two that becomes available and we have a chance to do those deals in Jan then we will try to do so.

What I believe is that TFG will be looking at future revenue streams (pre-agreed) and will leverage those to get deals over the line and wont be averse to front loading payments if needed.

Not for me agree that is a good player just feel be priced out because we need so many. If the gone down should atleast look to see if we can do a deal. Just feel jan they would try keep him and take chance on psr eith sales in the summer

If we need 9 players in summer i can (and hope) we spend 'big' on 3 or 4 and the rest are loans or cheaper deals.

In Jan i think we need to sign 3 players to lower the workload for summer.

There will be other clubs ahead of us in the pecking order if he is available. There's even been talk of United.

He's hurt himself with this potential ban though. Can't see him moving anywhere until the summer.
