Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Why? - a team currently 15th in the league table losing to teams currently 4th and 5th would hardly be a shock or unexpected. Matches that we need to get something out of if we are to stay up - yes, probably - but many better teams than us have lost to both those sides and not sacked their manager.
Because it is already clear that this manager has no future here. It's simply a matter of timing. I'm sure the Friedkins would hope Dyche gets to see out his contract, but they'll be replacing him one way or the other.

And, sorry, but we need to be competitive against clubs like Forest and Bournemouth - or we might as well throw our hat at it as a club. Yes, they are having a good season - but so what? If we can only take points against teams having poor seasons, we won't be taking many points.

We haven’t bothered with the January window for two years Goat, this will be our third. A possibly outgoing manager and Kopite Kev, if we are signing players that suggests Dyche will be staying cos there is no way he’s paying dough for players for the next manager.

Players in January - Dyche stays
No players - p45 for Dyche
Will be players coming in one why take a risk when the club is down the bottom not to improve the team, when you have spent that much money. Is still clear what we need in the team pace out wide and goals maybe even a lb. Wont be massive amounts spent and maybe helped by a sale dcl/beto . I still think they will keep the dof but like roma will be a structure what type of players they want to bring in inder a certain age.

Tenuous link to WBA winger Tom Fellows. He’s a RW, which we need, got pace, can use both feet, can play on the left as well, can pass, cross and shoot from either wing. Believed to be available for £15m

It is good to see he doesn't go down easily.Has a trick or two to his game ,can cross with both of his feet.Looks like an old type of winger likes to get his cross in early.

Hundred percent he goes end of season
It would make no financial sense to get rid before then unless we are in a really bad way. If the Friedkins are clever they can spend the next 6 months having a look right through the club while Duche’s in charge, so everything is ready for a new manager next season.

I am not a Dyche fan but putting up with him til the end of the season and using the time to get the club right, makes the most sense.

As long as we stay up under his tenure.

I obviously have no idea what will happen, but what I hope is happening is that big Dan has already tapped up his 1st choice manager and boxed him off to join us. The timing would then be determined by whether he is currently employed or if he has an obligation to wait till Jan / June to leave his current employer. It would genuinely make me happy to think we were that organised and forward thinking now.

Yep, he’s deffo here till the end of the season mate. He’ll be volleyed then no matter how well we do for the rest of the season.
Yeah he'll only get sacked, if we are in serious risk of going down. He's back to the 3 defeats in a row think though. Lose to City and Forest, he will be under intense pressure.

Might sound daft but I hope he sees his contract out. Just because it will mean things have gone OK until the end of the season. But I must stress, I want a different manager next season.

Or, alternatively, Players in January - p45 for Dyche before the window closes.
From the presser yesterday, dinner with the TFG guys sounded pally. Apparently they have respect for the hard yards that the gaffer has been putting in.

Imagine the fume if there’s a new contract…
