Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

See it similar to the beto deal with the lack of money we have and most likely wanted another cb. The club did scout him but problem is us fans still hwve no idea if he is even good enough becuase just hasnt had any game time

With Beto, we signed him 29th Aug. Window shut 2 days later.

We had to sell that window first/make a profit and defer spend to later.

The season had started.

We were bottom of the league after 3 games, having not scored a goal.

Eventually we sign a player who was available for literally £0 upfront. There's not many of them.

We paid a premium for him under that arrangement, but we would never have signed him if hands weren't tied. If he was a priority he'd have been in earlier.

I think O'Brien was different - I think it was Textor shenanigans. He was never starting for us this season, we didn't need to spend that money on cover at centre half. It was reported he was a "recruitment team signing" - in other words, Dyche didn't want him.

It's the reality of significant migitating circumstances with Everton's recruitment challenges over the last 3-4 years, caused by ownership.

We've brought in players I dont think Thelwell, nevermind Dyche would have wanted the last few years. Harrison, just because a clause allows £0. Even the likes of Lindstrom - he was far down the list.

Yes. If we went down to 3 then it’s absolutely nailed on that Branthwaite does his hamstring and Tarks gets sent off in the next match.

Would be madness to willingly drop to 3 central defenders in a relegation battle.
I don't follow the under 20's or what ever its now called as we don't seem to be producing much anyone know if we have a young centre half that's half decent if needed ?

just thinking off to my head, Harry Wilson as stop gap loan? fast , quick feet, eye for goal, that big unit up front for Luton who looked semi decent last season?
Don’t see why he’d leave Fulham for us.

Also doesn’t fit what Dyche is doing. No attacking players do really. I defend Dyche more than others but his tactics don’t provide our attacking players with the chance to show their best selves
