Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Very good player but what is the point in signing him? He would have to play as a secondary Full Back or Harrison would be starting over him every game under this manager...

Unless results change, Dyche will be gone, we need to sign a couple of players with pace and who can score. If Dyche doesn’t play them and we don’t start winning, he will be gone.

3 wins in 18 clearly isnt deemed enough for sacking a manager by TFG so I assume 6 in 38 would not be either.... we are stuck with Dyche, relegation or not, TFG don`t seem aresed at all or they would be doing something about it, but they aren`t.

They don`t care as long as Roma are OK, we are secondary... why do I say that? The second results went south at Roma Di Rossi, who is god in them parts, was swiftly removed yet this idiot is allowed to just carry on as usual. IF we were in anyway a priority and IF TFG knew anything about the club or what the fans wanted this guy would be kicked to Mars by now.... he isn`t and further more they are having him and going to back him in the Jan window.

Baffling, TFG will be up there with Venkys, they are just sat there letting it implode!

We absolutely do need a central midfield player because although we do currently have options, we lack any sort of quality in the most vital area of the pitch. Every central midfield player currently on the books are bang average at best and we lose every single midfield battle no matter who we come up against.
Can we just sign some leaders on the pitch for a change who hate to lose and will have a right go at the rest if there not pulling their weight oh how i miss a Peter Reid

Perfect replacement for Onana.
Midfield wouldnt need touching (apart from an attacking midfielder) with Garner, Gueye, Iroegbunam, Diarra & making Mangala permenant

The only thing id say is the lad linked really reminds me of Idrissa stylistically, so perhaps its planning for that.

But clearly we have fires elsewhere on the pitch.

Not seeing the Gana or Onana comparisons?

I see more of a Doucoure role for him. In a 4231 he'd be central with Ndiaye on the left...also able to drop back effectively into a 3 man midfield when we are deep.

If we were going after a Senegalese new Onana/Gana then it would be this chap who ive been banging on about for 18months+

Anyway Habib Diarra would be a welcome addition. High energy, quick and effective.

It looks as if Jake O Brien was a Thelwell signing rather than one favoured by SD.
It will be interesting to see if he stays in January, is sold or leaves on loan.

We may get an indication if the manager had much influence on signings.
If his contract is not to be extended then it makes sense to buy for the next. manager and probably not let a young centre half like O Brien leave permanently without getting a fair chance.

Hes being linked to "loads" of clubs having interest across several media outlets including the telegraph.

As i posted the other day, Obrien, Mangala and nearly Nuamah seem like deals Textor put together for us pre takeover.

I hope Obrien can be sold on for £16.4mil+

You are getting very tedious mate.

Switch off for a while and just wait & see.

….agree, a right sided attacker with real quality who carries genuine threat has to be a priority. My only concerns are it’ll be a massive admission of failure having brought in Harrison and Lindstrom, and given that record I couldn’t trust us bringing in the quality we need.
Harrison and Lindstrom are flops on Loan because we have no money, it's hardly an admission of failure buying a good wide player if we now have some money.
