Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Like when you purchase an asset and it depreciates in value over a period of time.

The value of a player signed for e.g £50mil on a 5 year deal will decrease each year by £10mil.

So in 2 years if you sell for £30mil its breakeven

Yep, so he's cost us ~15m on top of the wages for that period for little return.

Of we have a choice to send him back and bring in someone who will add more, then it's a no brainer. Harrison has added next to nothing
We won't have that chance, Leeds are not going to let us terminate the loan early,we have signed a season long contract, he's on £90,000 per week which we are paying in full. It's not like he is a youngster and Leeds want him playing every week for development...they really couldn't care less if we play him or not, but, they are delighted we are paying him.

I'm sure we a right to cancel a loan?

I only bring it up because a misfit senior player is breathtakingly expensive. Thinking of the depreciation of somebody like Tosun on top of his wages.

At least a smaller bet like Chermiti depreciates less rapidly and has more modest wages - even if it doesnt work out.

No.

If they want him sold they need to have him in the shop window.

Thats going to lower his price if he stays with us.

I think we may be able to send him back, but who knows.

Typically when fees are involved you cant send players back, here theres no fee.

Nah mate it’s happening all the time covert loans in place in place for eventual sales with the particulars negotiated to suit PSR requirements that might be at players.

It’s not the same as a straight sale the player Ammortisation goes into an additional year, so you get the benifit of an additional year a amortisation of the book price.

Maupays obligation will see him essentially be pure profit for us as his contract will be fully ammortisatied by the end of this season - that’s why did a loan.

I want debating the point I was making to be honest, just making illustrating it. ;)

I'll bet money we sign Lindstrom btw, as think the loan was a workaround sale in reality.
