Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Got this sickening feeling we may actually sign Harrison on a permanent to make this happen

Hes got an absolute mental contract at Leeds until 2028.

Leeds look like they could get promoted back to the prem so he'll be brought back into the fold with them. He'll either be a squad player or they'll try to sell him.

Nah mate it’s happening all the time covert loans in place in place for eventual sales with the particulars negotiated to suit PSR requirements that might be at players.

It’s not the same as a straight sale the player Ammortisation goes into an additional year, so you get the benifit of an additional year a amortisation of the book price.

Maupays obligation will see him essentially be pure profit for us as his contract will be fully ammortisatied by the end of this season - that’s why did a loan.

I want debating the point I was making to be honest, just making illustrating it. ;)

I'll bet money we sign Lindstrom btw, as think the deal was a buy arranged to get around P&S regs
….we seem to accept the mediocrity because we have limited spend. There’s no innovation, nothing unearthed, just the going rate for players that are ordinary. Even the loan signings are underwhelming in the main.

The situation with so many first teamers out of contract in the summer should also be a major concern and is a further indication of the mess our approach has been.

Eggs mate you often quote that the power is now in the hands of players in the modern game, so given due to necessity we are having to try to reduce wages - which out of contract players would you have in the position of the DoF bowed to the players demands.

Here's whose ooc this season btw.

DCL, Doucoure, Young, Coleman, Gueye, Keane.

Given their current wages and ages, which do you think we should have kept by extending, given DCL would almost certainly have wanted a raise?

Which money we spent would you have decided to have spent elsewhere also? And on whom? And which loans for the fees paid would you have decided to not do and instead which loans would you have made?

Guessing he has 2 years left on deal or so hard rfind another team who would pay that can see him sitting his contract out

The takeover was only complete on 19th December TFG will need time to assess everything properly and decide where the problems are, if TFG had been here for a season I am sure they would have changed the manager already. TFG are not going to sit on the side lines and see us be relegated, mainly because it would wipe out a significant value of the club and put us at risk of further sanctions from the football league.

When they sacked Di Rossi TFG had been owners of Roma club for nearly 4 years, they had all their own people in place, Marc Watts is the new Executive Chairman and Ana Dunkel, the CFO, we will see in the next few weeks if they back Dyche or Thelwell in this transfer window.

To me it seems that the two of them are at odds over signings as we have players like O'Brien who was signed and has not played, Beto who was signed and has hardly played and is now possibly moving on. TFG said in their statement that their priority was to strengthen the mens first team squad through thoughtful and strategic investment. That says they will be bringing in players this month, if they dont I am sure they will be judged accordingly. But its a bit early in their tenure to be all doom and gloom and comparing them to the Venkys.

You're arguing with a forum troll mate, don't bother.

Theres almost always a fee for a loan and the buy options are also quite frequent.

Not sure why you believe otherwise?

You can look back to the high fees we were quoted for Zouma which i think were £6mil a season.

You do know the Lindstrom deal was delayed around a week due to the player and agent having to agree the deal for the contract should we exercise our buy option.

I've never heard of that type of deal before outside of deals that were in essence financial workarounds on buys (mbappe did that moving to page on loan etc)

Why has the player agreed with the club the contract details of a permanent move whilst only on loan?

Surely terms would always have to be agreed in advance if an option is to be exercised in the future.

If Harrison really was preventing us from getting a far superior much needed loan, then we would always have the option of paying him off. It would be expensive, but it would also be the exact same cost as keeping him on for another six months.

Was just a PSR thing but yeh, dumb on players side not to notice that.

Yeah the buyback villa had made it worth their whilst to use it, lads a villa lad I think which could have swayed his decision also.

Likely the biggest reason was a scum agent figuring why not get two commissions in back to back season's by moving him back to villa then moving him again the next season
