Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

So apparently about the same even with teams in the champions league and europa league okkk. Cho still has the same amount of goals as fellows in 14 less appearances yet fellows is the type of player we should go for and not cho

And Nice, in the EL, got absolutely smacked by Rangers and a team from Hungary.

Same amount of goals, 9 less assists for Cho...

But just to top it all off let's compare their numbers:

Looks like all he's better at is winning a header.

Fellows looks okay, but he doesn't score many, and I think Dwight McNeil would have a similar amount of assists if he was operating in the championship. He might be better than Harrison, but he's a bottom half prem player at best.

He is a creative player not a scorer but he does score goals, we would be buying him for his ball carrying ability not goal scoring. Unlike NDiaye Fellows actually seems to be able to pass it to another team mate hence the 10 assists.

Less quality?
Ligue 1 ? More individual quality. I'd say your lower echelons are on a par with lower echelons Championship clubs. Obvs PSG are outliers in the discussion. They also act as the reason for the anti competitive nature. Lyon are a busted flush. Marseille, Lille, Monaco, Nice and Lens just out compete most Championship teams, the rest aren't all that. (All my opinions before anyone piles on)

I really think it’s a valid point when considering players from inferior leagues to consider how well the players we’re supposedly improving on would fare in the same league. So like you say would McNeil or even Lindstrom be putting up similar or better numbers in the Championship? Probably not massively inferior if at all.

Another case in point this lad who has scored a few for Rangers. Would DCL, Beto or Chermiti be doing the same or more in Scotland, probably.

Appreciate you are looking at potential long term as well as current ability but in terms of improving the side right now we shouldn’t always assume that player x would automatically improve on player y.

Yes Please!

Two PL clubs keen on signing Luiz from Juve

Latest from Sky Sports News chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol:

Two Premier League clubs want to sign Douglas Luiz from Juventus.

Juventus signed Luiz in the summer from Aston Villa for £21m, plus winger Samuel Iling-Junior and midfielder Enzo Barrenechea.

The player is very open to returning to the Premier League.

Juventus are considering loan plus obligation offers.

Few names at right wing and right back I think worth shortlist intrigue. Market rate via transfermarkt so all the caveats applied. Clearly the exodus come the end of the season warrants some January additions even with budget restraints. But for the current campaign I think RW and RB are paramount.

RW
Geny Catamo 23, Mozambique, Sporting CP 15 million
Dilane Bakwa 22, France, Strasbourg 15 million
Morgan Whittaker 23, England, Plymouth Argyle 12 million
Gabriel Pec 23, Brazil, LA Galaxy 12 million
Zakaria Aboukhlal 24, Morocco, Toulouse 10 million

RB
Michael Kayode 20, Italy Fiorentina, 18 million
Jackson Tchatchoua 23, Cameroon, Hellas Verona, 8 million
Killian Sardella 22, Belgium, Anderlecht, 6 million
Mattia Zanotti, 21 Italy, FC Lugano 4 million
Omar El Hilali, 21, Morocco, Espanyol 3 million

Everton have not agreed Beto departure

Latest from Sky Sports News' Alan Myers:

Everton have not agreed a deal with any club for striker Beto to leave the club

Italian side Torino are reported to be close to agreeing a loan for the 26 year old but it's unlikely Everton would allow the player to move at this point.

This is following recent injuries to Armando Broja and Yousef Chermiti.
