Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

So that's now both Wolves and Ipswich strengthening their squads already this window with £20m+ signings.

Both below us in the league (by a mere point), likely ahead of us after the next two fixtures. Wolves needed a CB, they've now got one. Ipswich needed more attacking options, now they've got them.

Yet some people think we'll automatically be OK this season because we're Everton FC?

The club needs to act incredibly quickly either with signings or getting a new manager in, but preferably both. If that doesn't happen then I put us down as certainties for the drop.

He Is honestly a really good young player. Great potential. My worry would be though, that WBA are competing for play off places and he's their star man. Think it would take Philogene prices to get him out of there in Jan.

Must Be cheaper options on the continent.
Keep your hands off him!!, we can offer you a 2 for 1 instead with Diangana and Jed Wallace 😆

Next two fixtures for wolves and Ipswich.

Wolves away at a flying Newcastle, then away at Chelsea.

Ipswich home to Brighton, then home to man city.

Even assuming we get zero the next two games, not seeing both those sides picking up at least two points each with those fixtures, I'd say wolves are likely to lose both for starters, Ipswich big underdogs in both

It’s so frustrating. We need a left back and a right winger. Other clubs in the relegation mix have players lined up and sign them in the first few days in January. Here we are (again) just being linked with players who can’t get in the teams of other Premier League sides.
Do we have any scouts outside of England? When did we last buy a player from South America? It feels like the whole recruitment side of the club is just on its arse. No ideas, no excitement, no rabbits out of the hat. It’s as grim as watching the team play football.

So wolves and Ipswich have bought guaranteed quality have they? never heard of 1 of them and the other sits on villas bench. I'm confident our owners have a plan still 3 weeks to go before this window shuts.

We have such short memories. Everyone was wetting the bed when allegedly Sulemana and Onuachu both turned us down to sign for Southampton for silly fees in their bid for survival, and look how that turned out.

Yes, we do need reinforcements, but not by paying over the odds for players, likely also on silly salaries but at the moment we have having to take our medicine for the similar mistakes of the past.

I'm all for the "rabbits out of the hat" you mention by the end of the month hopefully.

Doing nothing and assuming other teams keep losing every week is exactly how we will get relegated this season. Complacency is the last thing that should be in our minds given how we are playing.

Got to say I'm pretty concerned with all this talk about the new ownership waiting till the summer to make any changes. We are in not in a position to do that. We need to see them take action now and stop waiting.

I can't say I'm impressed so far with them and expected then to want to hit the ground running. It's not impatience either, they should be fully aware of the issues since they are so obvious

This thread is funny.

Every window posters crying about LINKS to players, which may or may not even be true.

Complaining about not being LINKED to unknown players (we have been) and also complaining about not being LINKED to good players (we have been)....or LINKED to good young known and unknown players (we have been).

Moshiri didn't hang around and look where his scattergun approach got us. TFG aren't idiots, I'm sure they'll act when the time is right.
