Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Fair mate, but referring to his past Everton teams doesn't work as he over achieved in a minimal budget and that was also a different era of footy. Whilst I take the point, West Ham had plenty of players with pace , pace alone isn't enough anyway you need quality too. I agree our team lacks pace though and we need some in this window.
There is an element of that. But you can find good pacy players, even on a linted budget. It just wasn't high priority for Moyes.

His West Ham side still could have done with more pace. Like I said, if you play low block (only engaging further back) and counter-attacking, it is most effective if you have pace throughout the side. That's the most significant change I want to see from Moyes this time around.

If that’s true, then the 2nd scan must have shown that the only thing wrong with Broja was a tiny bit of 4G rubber crumb in his sock.

Surely Beto only leaves if someone comes in that is demonstrably better than him. We can’t afford to throw £20-30m at a punt. Be amazed if we have enough headroom for a striker that is “guaranteed” to be better than ours, AND doesn’t get injured every 5 mins.

When has DiMarzio ever been right about anything?!

Joey you are correct Harrison can be sent back if both clubs agree to the cancellation, unfortunately Leeds cannot afford the $90k per week he is on, so I don't believe this will happen
Stupid to take him on another loan, a winger who can't beat a man ..... mind you Dyche played him on his unnatural wing & mainly covering for our crap right back....

Low block high block wasn’t even a thing when Moyes was here. We always had rapid players in our back four like Jags, Yobo, Lescott, Distin and Coleman that mean we could play a high line. We got pushed back against the better teams. But we didn’t play counter attacking football. We still tried go through phases of possession. The game was played completely differently back then. Keepers didn’t get involved in the build up.

Even if true, all that it tells us is that they're in contact over the possibility.

"Hi Davie, is there a possibility of signing Beto ?"

"No there isn't."

It’s not the fact he can’t beat a man. It’s his complete inability to get hold of the ball and pass which is most troublesome.
