Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

yeh cant see anything in it either, it would make Thelwell look a complete idiot. i would hope there's a sell on clause too, if not that makes him look an idiot too.
That's what I'm saying really, it would only make him look an idiot if we signed him back for more than we sold him for. We all know they didn't really want to sell and it was a PSR thing, if the opportunity came back to get him back for less/the same amount and they took it I don't see that as an issue. Nobody calls Monchi an idiot for selling and resigning both Archer and Philogene.

If he didn't already know Moyes is probably going to find out tonight just how desperate we are for new players.

Money available is a at least a step forward.

if Leicester are wanting the same or less they're the idiots in that case

There could be a buy back clause with a pre-agreed fee.

But that assumes a level of competence not normally associated with Everton

Weird deal, suspect we might have a buy back clause or a deal in our favour, similar to what Villa had with Philogene.
Yeah at most it would be some sort of clause related play like Philogene. Even then I don’t really see an angle, if we get a percentage of any profit Leicester make and Sunderland are throwing money at him, sit back and take the free money.

Why in earth would we want Cannon back regardless of the price ( unless it was a PSR dodge a la Philogene) as he clearly isn't good enough to take us forward.
Morgan whittaker has got Moyes written all over him.

Would love a couple like this lad.
I'm presuming that you've never seen him play a full game. As I'm originally from Plymouth I take an interest in their matches. He was good last season but a one trick pony. He's all left foot and no pace and lightweight. Think Sheedy but with a fraction of his ability. He scores occasional worldies but goes missing for the majority of a game. He's absolutely not a Moyes type of player.

Cannon only makes sense if we are planning for next season in the championship.

Some of that sounds like Pienaar tbh.

But thanks for the more in-depth stuff on him, I was thinking more profile is a good fit..
