Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

yea, obviously his wages are prohibitive but if both clubs could sort a loan deal with a split in payment till the end of the season it could be interesting. I'd say rashford is a home bird and might fancy the chance of getting a fresh start just down the road.
Would united loan him at all never mind to Everton who are only a couple of spots behind them in the PL
Deffo. We pay £30k a week and United pick up the remaining £270k - easy!

I was going to say i'm 'astounded' we haven't signed anyone yet but nothing really surprises me where we are concerned!

I genuinely thought we'd be one of the most active clubs this window, given our predicament. The fact we still haven't signed anyone yet, and there hasn't been much in the way of concrete rumours, is very worrying.

We either genuinely haven't got a pot to p*ss in due to PSR, or kopite kev is just incompetent.
Erm perhaps because our new manager has only been in place for a few days, you do understand football isn't actually played on a computer don't you. Give the man a chance for bleebs sake, or you would rather Dyche had bought in some more garbage that Moyes wouldn't use? Dof is a dead man walking so no point in listening to him

Can't loan another domestic unless we release 1, plus he wouldn't come near us plus he's toxic and gone crap

Re Tom Cannon - wonder if there's a possibility we have a sell on clause for him and by buying him back we actually make a PSR profit on him this financial year (sell on clause instantly banked as profit, whilst only putting one year of his contract on the books). If the sell on fee is bigger than the 1st years amortisation then we'd be banking profit - if you can then instantly loan him out with an obligation to buy for the same amount, you bank another profit next financial year.

Too clever for Everton?

Erm, you do realise we have a Director of Football don't you? What exactly do you think the DOF does?

Did you even watch Moyes first Press conference where he talked about relying on Thelwell and the recruitment team RE potential targets?

The requirements for the squad are obvious. Targets should have been identified months ago, regardless of the manager situation.

But the easiest way to make money off him this year is just to let someone else buy him then bank our slice, rather than go round the houses.

We basically lost a week of the window changing manager, even though it was done efficiently by our standards. Plus it’s January: everybody wants to buy, nobody wants to sell.

I’d still be disappointed with fewer than 2 signings but I wouldn’t have really expected them by halfway through the month.
I would. Other teams seem to be able to manage to recuit quicker than we do. Given the perilous state we are in, why haven't deals been lined up before the window opens? We weren't planning on changing manager and the issues with the squad are obvious.

I think we need to see what Moyes can do with this squad first before we get the cheque book out.

I think we have played a few square pegs in round holes.

Sadly I think players like Beto, Harrison and Lindstrom are very much Moyes like signings plus the extra boost of Garner.

We still need to bring McNeil back plus Tim so we have extra options.

Broja has question marks over his fitness so we need to add if he is out for a while.

I admit we have faults but I also think those players have massively underperformed under a manager who threw in the towel a long time ago.

I think we will add a few new faces to give us a boost but I hope we add real quality in key areas like left back or striker
If Moyes doesn't come out for the second half he's realized how bad we are and left

If we have a buy back clause though at a discounted rate below his current market value, we could get a couple of loan fees then a sell on fee. 11 goals in the Championship in half a season will have a paying market.
