Tony Bloom was quoted as saying that earlier this season. Their target is regular top 10 finishes but they are quite optimistic of a European finish this seasonThink they went alot more out to get more looking at the spendings. I kno sold well but also apent high.
I think the quote from Ornstein was specifically about attacking players so I doubt he was referring to Walker Peters. It's hard to tell but I also took the 'one for the future' reference to be more about someone who wouldn't really be coming in to play any significant part in the first team straight away (like a Chermiti type). I don't think someone like Fellows would fall into that bracket, he's relatively young but he's not someone who'd be going in to the junior sides. The line up tonight will shed a bit of light on where the priorities for recruitment this January lay.
Interested to see if we play three at the back for starters.
Who starts at fullback/wingback will also be informative.
Does look like we need at least one fullback who can get forwards though with pace, a right winger and a central mid.
Of linked players so far - Walker-Peters Fellows, and the young Senegalese lad are all interesting options.
If the rumour about one ready now one for development are true then KWP is the obvious ready now, fellows likely more of a development player
Apparently moyes’s brother is his agent and we have a sell on, maybe we’re trying to bump the price, bad move for him coming back, he will be back to 3rd choice next seasonTom Cannon… wasn’t he at Everton previously.
So we released/sold him. Spent a fortune on Beto and now want to buy Cannon back cos Beto is turbo turd.
Great Business!
10 mill, we got 7 mill!
5 year deal, 2 mill a year.
All depends on what our % is. If it’s like 30% then we get a million back from a 3m profit so the amortisation goes from 2m to 1m this year. If we have strikers leaving then I guess it could make sense to bring in someone for that minimal outlay, knowing even if he does nothing but provide cover he has a proven track record that will have Championship clubs lining up again in the summer.
Plus we obviously know the player. People want us taking risks on young championship players so why not one where we know the player inside out already?
I don’t love it but I’d understand it.
I think thats James Garner. I want a 100 kick ass CM to run the show.Hopefully we sign at least one utility player that can adapt to various positions for the sake of depth and versatility
Was a PSR thing IMO. Pure profit, which we sorely needed at the timeDid we really want to sell him at the time or did we have to out of necessity is another question…..
I was surprised we sold him if I’m honest.
Think it was a pure PSR / cash flow sacrifice.Did we really want to sell him at the time or did we have to out of necessity is another question…..

You could be right there mate, assuming ofc Ornstein isn't chatting bubbles.I think the quote from Ornstein was specifically about attacking players so I doubt he was referring to Walker Peters. Nuamah is considered a signing for the future. Thought it would be him.You could be right there mate, assuming ofc Ornstein isn't chatting bubbles.
The potential thing could be what you say my take was someone whose not walking in as a starter straight off - kinda remember Moyes bedding in players from the championship in the past over a season or more
They best be prepared to cry then.Tony Bloom was quoted as saying that earlier this season. Their target is regular top 10 finishes but they are quite optimistic of a European finish this season
They're literally goal difference away from their target I doubt they'll be wetting their beds about it, but you never know I guessThey best be prepared to cry then.
Despite all the blunder about ' how well ran they are ' and top 6 head pats, they would be nowere if Chelsea werent so nuts with there cash!
Bournemouth and Forest have out performed them in the last 12 months massively, spending a fraction of the net spend Brighton have.
Depends if we move on Beto and send Broja back. He would not have much competition. Only DCL with Chemiti still injured.Apparently moyes’s brother is his agent and we have a sell on, maybe we’re trying to bump the price, bad move for him coming back, he will be back to 3rd choice next season
