Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Ings and Willian is the same, low-risk, limited reward logic that brought us Moyes so I can well believe both links tbh.

I'd rather we rolled the dice on a manager and some players who had the potential to grow with us over a period of years, but I guess owners have decided that it's get to the new stadium in the PL at all costs. Just need to hope contracts are short and wages are low.

Obviously differs from popular opinion but I think our main issue is solidity in midfield and creativity.

Doucoure and Gueye are finished, one has lost footballing ability completely and the others legs are gone and I feel this inhibits Mangalas performances as late so two stronger midfielders needed but I’m not talking just DMs, we need a creative midfielder in there to bridge the gap from defence to attack.

We could have prime Ronaldo and still not score because our attack is limited to hopefully foofs up the pitch.

Wingers are an issue but it depends on playing style. We need wingers in sync with full backs on overlap, generating not just crosses but balls into the pocket to a proper number 10 who can unlock goal scoring opportunities but with the confidence of a midfield shield to protect the defence and gaps left by the wide players.

Essentially it’s the spine of the team which is the problem. Carlo brought one in and results improved but that spine has got old or left and here we are. To be honest we have been a soft centred team for decades hence our troubles in the prem years, even during Moyes 1.0.

No to ings imo just not worth it for the money injuries contrwct ect. Willian id tske to end of season not just the only player out wide but plus another

Sound like the Chilwell/Chukwuemeka loan deal is likely then with Broja heading back.

As much as they are good players, I feel like the opportunity to take Evan Ferguson should not be ignored in our current state.
Had a lot of injury problems last few seasons and a few have mentioned he's been liking the nightlife a bit too much in Brighton.

No doubt he is talented, but think he would be a risk and we need can't really take those atm
