Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

I think they should sign some young player nobody has heard of and proceeds to get injured all the time and amounts to nothing for decent money and possibly an aged veteran who has preferably played for Manchester United

Saw a few of the fan sties saying over the weekend that we've been scouting Tom Fellows again (don't know how true that is) , this is the type of broad base investment id be hoping to make in Jan.

Players we have scouted, with big potential for the future, we could develop, but may not ready for the first team straight away - maybe 15 -20 mins of the bench as they develop and adjust and compete for a shirt.
I think Rigg is out of our league TBH

Lindstrom (L)

Gueye (OOC)
Calvert-Lewin (OOC)

That’s a lot of players leaving unless extended.

If he will sign anything, we will extend DCL. Even with a new owner, we will not have the cash to throw at a striker when we are replacing so many players.

Gana probably gets extended.

I don’t think we will replace Myko either.

I think we invest heavily at first team RB and CM, with some investment at a right sided attacking midfielder.

I’m not sure Lindstrom has shown he’s worth the purchase clause.

Summary: any investment from TFG has to be spread to cover a LOT of warm bodies.
Mad that didnt realise, over half the squad isnt it

Gonna be a busy summer/jan but id expect mostly summer

I think PSR is going to change to squad cost ratio from next season, but I guess that means PSR remains for this season, so there could still be PSR penalties dished out during next season.

Either way, increased revenues are very welcome and will decrease any restrictions we may have. That's why I'm hoping we can do some inflated deals similar to what we did with Villa with Tim and Dobbin. DCL would be the player to sacrifice in such a deal if he continues to turn down our contract offers.

A sponsor for our new stadium would also help a lot.

I think Keane, Gueye and Doucoure will be offered short term extensions, Coleman maybe as well if he shows he can stay fits and quits international football but I doubt any of that will happen. I think DCL has probably decided to leave but you can certainly see why we would to keep him when you look at the list of names you put up.

I count thirteen outfield players not out of contract next summer but that includes Armstrong and Dixon.
Doucoure, Gueye and Keane would bring that to sixteen .

we would still need to sign five or six players but as in recent seasons we may get a couple of loans.

If we could sign permanently maybe four young talented players I think that would be a good start.
The last thing we need is to have to spread our limited resources over the signing of a gig group of players.

We now need to try to bring more quality than quantity to the team.

If we could sign 3 this January then one or two may even be precontract agreements so the players dont even join until the summer -- all about getting them signed first.
