Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

With the stated goal of having a new manager soon does it really make sense to vring in players to fit Dyche's system? Wingbacks might be something the next manager relies upon....

We shouldn’t be buying left-back’s only, or wing-backs only, we need players that can do both otherwise we’re just shafting half a set of formations.

Agree dont just want an attqcking fb who is cant defend, is plenty of fb who can do both. Ofc we need some who have pace and can actually offer us some threat going forward

Id like to see two - three long term prospects for the future - clever investments - probably ones that wont immediately get into the first team - if possible.

Think someone like Adam Wharton last year.

Someone like Rigg at Sunderland.

We need to start challenging clubs like Spurs, Brighton even Palace for these players.

Also help us with the contract cliff we have coming in the summer.

Saw a few of the fan sties saying over the weekend that we've been scouting Tom Fellows again (don't know how true that is) , this is the type of broad base investment id be hoping to make in Jan.

Players we have scouted, with big potential for the future, we could develop, but may not ready for the first team straight away - maybe 15 -20 mins of the bench as they develop and adjust and compete for a shirt.

Tom Fellows is not going to come here and sit on the bench behind Jack Harrison mate, if that's what we are offering then he is better off staying where he is.

Not so sure myself mate, i think he would.

You manage him, you say look you come in, we think your the future and we will invest in you, youl get a chance and mins, it will be an adjustment, but when the chance comes if you deserve it you keep the shirt - look at Ndiaye.

That would be pretty standard from anyone making a step up from the Championship.

Hopefully its being viewed as a Harrison replacement for the summer and won't be done till then.

He definitely would come here mate, especially giving the fact Harrison is only on loan.

Also you're forgetting he'd been playing PL football in a soon to be brand new stadium coupled with an almost certain increase in wages.

I think walk over broken glass to come here.

Was more thinking of him as maybe a better value alternative to making Lindstom permanent.

Maybe Gnonto for Harrison. (I've had a bit of coffee already this morning admittedly)!
I try to avoid mentioning him tbh as I don't really rate him, I know Thelwell seems to like him. Id like us to look at someone like Zhegrova (the video I posted the other day) someone who is more a right sided version of Ndiaye than an out and out wide player. It will also depend on who the manager is, they may want too play a bit more narrow so will want a more Ndiaye type or they may want to move him in the middle and play with pace merchants on both sides. We will have to wait and see on that score. I also think young Omari Benjamin is pushing hard for some first team mins, 9 goals and 2 assists, Id like to see him at least get a chance in the second half of the season if he keeps his numbers up.

Fair points mate - i know we had a sniff around a deal for Gnonto in the summer, but i also noticed he was down the list, we went for Philly before him.

All on board on Benjimen you'd hope he would begin training with the first team - not sure if he is or not.
