Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

I think he would do very well for us again.
Still only 27, a very talented footballer and clearly loves Everton.

However, it is a deal that won't happen.
As others have said Spurs cannot afford to lose a fit player at the moment.
Also, I don't think we could match the deal Spurs would need to recoup some of what we received for his sale and he probably is on a lucrative deal at Spurs.

Finally, Spurs may be looking for a new manager soon and Richarlison may be more important then.
Mate, was talking about Ferguson at Brighton, not Richy!

What I was saying the other day when someone said it was nonsense and it was only cashflow holding us back, not PSR and that it shouldn't be about problem with new owners.

As I understand it, what we agree to pay upfront goes on the books for this years' PSR and the remaining amount can be amortised.

It's the same reason why we could put Beto down for free in his first year here.

Factor in we need £5m upfront just to sign Walker-Peters, and we owe Chelsea £2m if we cancel Broja's loan and it looks like it will be hard to make that money stretch in January.

Only other option is to gamble and agree to sell Branthwaite or Ndiaye to someone before the June 30th deadline.
Please remove that last para, I was having a good week until that point!!

Don’t know why the second part would be the case, but the amortisation amount is the cost of the player, cash flow doesn’t play a part (unless there is some peculiarity unique to football contracts which I don’t think is the case).

Sell Ndiaye...

Doesn't sound like we'll have a lot of options this window due to clubs wanting big money upfront. There's even rumours that WBA would be looking for £10m upfront just to consider a deal for Fellows.

Could be a tough one . . .
