Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

He has certainly struggled to adapt to the PL despite very good numbers in the Championship. I guess in part that will be down to playing for one of the worst teams in the league whereas in the the championship, he was part of one of the stronger teams.
With all due respect to Ipswich its funny how we seem to miss out on these guys and then they end up at the yo-yo clubs.

I suppose occams razor says we were never in for him.

if he’s actually available at a relatively cut price deal, or a loan with obligation, then I’d suspect there’ll be a fair few teams interested in Edwards. He’s a proper right winger though so could be ideal for us and we may be able to offer first team football unlike others. Moyes has taken on ‘difficult characters’ before and had success, maybe the lad just needs a change of scenery. If he’s anything like Ndiaye but on the right side, we have to try. I wonder if they would be interested in a loan with obligation in summer? A loan for Edwards and a bid for Walker Peters and that may be a shrewd January. With injured players returning, we could be set up well for the second half of the season. So difficult to work in this window with our finances though.
Agreed. A Walker-Peters/Edwards right-hand side suddenly makes the team look very different. For not a huge outlay as well.

I know the policy of TFG is usually 23 and under, but I don’t think there’s any harm in a couple of 26/27 year olds on low fees and moderate wages for right now, if they can provide immediate impact

Tottenham living in Cloud Cuckoo Land if they think they can get him given their current predicament
They got Archie gray.

Another teenager isn't what they need though.

Abit like when they bought Huddlestone, Lennon, Routledge, Jenas, Davies, Ziegler, Dawson etc. When what they needed was probably just 2 big changers instead.

Liverpool did this when they went nuts to the wall with Van Dijk, Allisson & Fabinho. Buying young players can come later.
