Yeah he has made the most of being a fairly average sort of player, always puts 100% in and certainly seems popular with Howe, and is also a geordie himself which helps.

I remember watching him play at wingback in a game years ago, & he was the best player on the pitch. Might have been for Wigan against us but I'm not sure. Really unusual having a wingback that's as big as a basketball player
