Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Cole & Dylan Williams at Airdrie :o

Everton and Crystal Palace are among a host of clubs tracking Airdrie’s teenage sensations Cole and Dylan Williams, sources have told Football Insider.

The Williams twins have been earning rave reviews for Airdrie’s academy side and the 16-year-old pair have been named on the bench for the first-team in the Scottish Championship this season.

Scouts from clubs in England and Scotland have been alerted to the potential of both players and are readying moves for the duo.

Airdrie are desperate to keep hold of the brothers and are keen to tie them down to professional contracts in a bid to avoid losing them on the cheap.

100% an area at the club we have been left behind in

Tbh Thelwells background is largely within this area, id prefer his position is changed too something else like Sporting/Technical director and leave him to build a solid youth production line and we get a proper "name" in to oversee the first team.
Yeah dont think he would stay if honest but i would give him a chance here to be the dof under TFG i am still 50/50 on him. Feel he could do better with a manager more closer to his plans at the club. Interested see what we do this jan window

Maybe but he had little say at Wolves under Mendes, id off him the sideways role otherwise Id let him go, he has repeatedly failed to strengthen in certain key areas over numerous windows and yes you can throw the money argument in there but some of his targets are very predictable and I have said before I don't think his or our scouts contacts book is very wide ranging.

Have to point towards the cash situation at the club and how hes had limited options.

Seems to be alot of posters in the youth thread that rate some of the younger signings -- I dont watch those games but have to applaud the sheer numbers hes brought in.

Hes got the keeper Doug Lukjanciks extended and it seems like Clarke & Graham especially have done well at u18s level. I wonder if we could make him the DOFA (Director of Football: 'Academy') or some such title.

Possibly working with a new DOF who covers the first team -- separate the budgets somewhat so Thelwell can build out the young squads.

Potentially if he succeeds he could then step back up to the DOF role for the club.

That just separates the good ones from the bad ones for me. A good recruitment team will find deals too be had at all price points Zat, even loans and free transfers. You simply can't just spend vast sums of money every window its why clubs end up with PSR issues. We have also been building a stadium, the cash hasn't been there in recent seasons and some of our fanbase repeatedly fail to get their heads around this for some reason. One example: Jake O'Brien, he is a fairly ordinary CB who has never pulled up any tree's, I don't think he is as good as Tarkowski (Who I'm no massive fan of) and he certainly is no Branthwaite but we spent money on him when we should have loaned a CB and spent the money towards another attacker, its just poor decision making from the recruitment team again imo. Tbh I think we as a club just need a clean slate from top to bottom.

Aren't these the twins from that Disney channel Zack and Cody ??

Everton likely have plans in place to bring in new players in the January transfer window, according to Alan Myers.

The Sky Sports news editor reported on 10 November that the Toffees will bring in at least two players through the door in the winter.

If TFG come in, we'll definitely see a couple of new signings - desperately needed too.

After missing out on Gnonto, Minteh, Philogene - wingers with a bit of pace is my guess.
