Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Its a very 1 dimensional way of looking at it.

Shouldn't you be trying to be able to play a whole bunch of styles and different positions.
Especially if nowadays the main remit from an academy is to sell players? You coach players to suit 1 particular style you are only going to get clubs similar after those players.

Teams change and evolve, and should be able to play in different ways and use different types of players to change that.
Not so sure mate, the best teams are one dimensional City Liverpool Barca etc...

I get what youre saying and im not saying its wrong, but if your playing for Everton youth team your aim is to break through to the first team.
Playing week in week out the same as them will give you a better chance IMO

I would say the U18s and U21s should play the same way as the first team, surely if they get called up then the transition shouldnt be so hard as they are already used to playing that way.

I guess it would be not easy but easier to breakthrough to the first team.
That should be the aim, but I don't know if that is what we are trying to do. Similarly, I hope the aim wasn't to try and get our u18s and U21s playing in the same way as the first team, because that would've been ruinous.

Were did i say we didn't need players, all that was said was i feel more 'at ease' with it, with Moyes in charge and i'm happy for him to take his time to get the right players.
Well I guess you can feel how you feel, being at ease with it is a bit presumptuous. He's relegated bad players before, he can certainly do it again.

I suppose in the modern era, the aim isnt the first team for the club its to get a gem from the production line to make 100% profit like a Rooney/Gordon

Liverpool are probably the least one dimensional team there is, especially under Klopp.

They could go from a high line pressing defenders, to sitting very deep, knocking it around the back slowly to play a long ball over the top.

Brighton are a perfect example of a 1 dimensional team, they couldn't change it up on Saturday so we were never put under any sort of extraordinary strain.

Think they need to scrap the transfer window its forcing clubs into last minute deals they probably dont want.

I also hate the drama the media (Sky) make from it as well.
That kin countdown clock burns my head out

You can't accuse the likes of Bournemouth, Brighton, Villa, Fulham all clubs that have spent money and there are others, but they stayed within the rules because they didn't have dumb and dumber running them. January is also an awful time to do business at any level of the game as you well know and we are still seen as a bit of a laughing stock by many so actually convincing players to sign is not as easy as you make out unless you think the answer is to throw blank cheques at players?
It's a lame excuse for these Yanks, tbf.
