Spectacular revisionism there. He was crap for us; his decision making was woeful and his value was only heading one way if he stayed. I’ll die on the hill that the AG transfer was one of those that worked out perfectly for all parties concerned. We got a great price at the time, he got to play for a club whose tactics don’t make the fans’ eyes bleed on the regular and they got a player who has appreciated in value and ability pretty sharply.

It's only revisionism if I thought differently when we sold him isn't it? And I didn't. For that it's worth if we sell Branthwaite we should be looking for over £85 million, probably closer to £100 million given that he's got his whole career ahead of him, will be an England starter for years, is a better defender than Stones was and is English and given how much other teams pay for foreign rubbish
