January tough window. PSR. Manager/DoF different ideas, blah blah blah. Textbook Everton transfer window excuses stuff.

We’ve already got our excuses ready for the “great reset” in the summer too. Limited funds, possibly 10+ players needed to make a squad. PSR issues.

Anything over 10m for Longstaff would be poor value

I imagine it would be between £15m - £20m that a deal gets done for him. Which is reasonable in my view when comparing figures that get bandied about for players.

I reckon they ask for £30m though.would do a job this season and next. Then become a decent squad player.

We appear to be doing an “Everton “ in this window. How many times are we going to let the window get to its final stages before we decide who it is we want. Once again we have let the clock wind down to the stage where clubs don’t want to lose players as they have no time to replace them or we look desperate and are willing to pay over the odds or buy rubbish. Surely we need to start learning lessons.

If it was just a case of getting on to clubs and saying "We're here to take your player off you"......

Spot on. Duran is an excellent striker, would be first choice at many clubs in the league and will only get better. Villa have no need to sell, so they wont. Yet another superb bit of business by a well run, astute club.

He's out of contact in the summer isn't he, 15-20m is massively excessive for someone in that position and ability

Villa bought Rogers off the back of 2 goals in 26 games for Boro. Loads would write him off here for stats like that in the Championship.
