You have to look at who the manager was at the time too I think dyche was adamant about bringing him back as well

We hear this excuse every single window without fail. “No one else is doing anything”. We are not other clubs. We have about 13 fit players.

We have more fit players than Bournemouth. They aren't doing anything either. Not sure how Everton, with limited financial abilities can approach things any differently here. It's the same every January and every January everyone in here gets antsy because we've not signed everyone.

It's not an Everton issue. It's a football thing; because of the moving parts involved in transfer deals this window things tend to happen at the last minute when everyone has explored every avenue and clubs who we might want to buy from can confirm that they either have cover or can afford to be without our targets.

I get it the club track record with these matters is not encouraging but I do believe some developments will occur but I could be wrong I just know at roma they've always backed the squad so assuming it should occur here as well

I'm with this. It's pointless and unnecessary stress expecting signings before Monday now. If we're lucky we might get one done by the weekend but I'm not expecting it.

It was always going to come down to deadline day and so we're almost here. I do expect a couple in and think we'll do that much. Who we get is another matter.

We need at least two in, and TFG can come in for rightful criticism if we don't. But let's see what happens on Monday.

DoF issue, Thelwell needs to GTF and TFG bring in a competent DoF who actually knows what he is doing and able to recruit the type of players all other PL teams can find except this muppet.... Previous signings is evidence of the crap job he is doing, get rid now!

Solid post , signings don't become available for a club with limitations placed on them until the chain reaction of various bigger deals transpire and I think just assume it's like the summer window , championship teams aren't going to sell their best player if they're chasing promotion and you can't offer big money. This context matters

I feel like those two have been associated with Everton nearly as long as I have , they must be due a testimonial

I trust Moyes can make players better whoever he decides to sign, he deserves that trust after his first spell. I just fear we may be limiting ourselves if we just go for players with PL experience rather than trying to bring in the next so and so from abroad. We really need to be taking more risks if we want to be a profitable club on the pitch, bring the average age down develop young talent when they're relatively unknown and inexperienced.

Thelwell has been trying to track down Tonton Moukouko Zola and Mark Kerr for weeks.

Maybe he is actually just sat playing FM and forgot he has a real job to do?

Which signings prove he's doing a crap job please? I'm sure this has been covered off at length previously.

Beto is a striker last time I checked.

That gives us one more striker than Bournemouth have at the moment.
